In reaction to an expired vehicle registration, "crime"? Consider the civil judgment pay outs in these cases and "get real". The LEO is
more responsible than the motorist with the lapsed vehicle registration because the LEO does this routinely. The motorist considers
the lack of the severity of the predication and is suddenly involved in an escalation in which, "out comes the Taser!" The LEO wants
immediate compliance, respect.... at what cost? Your assumptions are absurd in 2022 America, versus what is unfolding, over and over,
in front of our eyes!
Here's the chief of investigatory non-compliance, resistance, and obstruction, a fish unaware he is wet!:

If police know who you are and not accusing you of a violent crime, they should be instructed not to tase or shoot you
if you flee, on the grounds that the costs associated with civil liability of using deadly or Taser force are unsustainable to
the taxing entity. "Catch up" in court with offenses associated with the motorist fleeing under such circumstances. Cops and
their supervisors have enough experience by now to accept they cannot shoot their way out of noncompliance by non-violent,
minor offenders.
When they resist or attempt to leave, don't turn them into violent offenders by attempting to detain them using physical contact
and restraint or by tasing because it is uneconomical, petty, unjustifiably risky to LEOs putting these traffic stops into coffins.
