Palin to South Carolina: Vote for Newt

Oh, it's not reactionary at all. It's understanding indications.

The liberals were very threatened by Palin, so they spend a LOT of time bashing, smearing and badmouthing her. They were very threatened by Cain and they dug and dug till they found some dirt to smear around. They were a little threatened by Perry and, again, they resorted to smears and badmouthing.

Now...let someone mention Gingrich and it's the Palin-esque tactics all over again.

The only Republican they DON'T feel threatened by is Romney.

Now...I've said from time to time in this forum that I think Gingrich is the smartest man in the Presidential race...whether Republican or Democrat and he has proven himself to be a better leader than anyone running for President...including Obama. But, I'm not a Republican so I can't vote for him unless he is nominated. I don't know if he will be, but I'll be disappointed if he isn't.

It's politics. The attacks are endless. The key is to try and front people who don't carry so much ridiculous baggage that they make themselves the easiest target in the world. Palin? Cain? Perry? Gingrich?

We've all got some skeletons of some kind but Jesus Christ man. These folks are hauling around whole graveyards in their closets.

Newt's 2nd wife has apparently decided to drop the bomb on Gingrich on Nightline, Thursday night. It is reported to be a campaign ender. Gingrich is slime and that's saying a lot looking at the GOP slop bucket of candidates.

Holy F. I heard about the interview but I had heard it was to be delayed until Monday before airing... Wow. Will be interesting to see what effect it has on South Carolina this Saturday. I don't know how much it will matter initially though. Righties tend to rally behind their sleazes when they get attacked because they are adamant that it's just left-wing lies. Then after enough time they see that it's not then they drop... ala Herman Cain. So... we'll see.

Better now than later. Actually I commend ABC for waiting until after the election in South Carolina to release the interview.

Now that's a stunning bit of news. I had no idea "Nightline" was still in production.

Do any of the Republicans actually still listen to this woman? After all she can be partly to blame for McCain's lost. If I were you guys I'd steer clear of her and anything she said.

She does know a thing or two about unvetted candidates and how they can do serious damage to a Presidential campaign.

with all due respect, its a nice alternate reality you live in. The only candidate that makes liberals break a sweat is Romney as he is the only reasonable one of a very bad lot. The Republicans are hardly bringing their "A" to this election, and for all intents and purposes, have conceded it from the get-go. Romney has a shot. None of the other clowns, including Palin do. Its a pity you could not convince Daniels, Pawlenty or Christie to run (or stay in the race), as that was your "A" team.

It would be CLASSIC if the hypocrisy of the so called party of "family values" is exposed by nominating a reptile with the morals of a sewer rat as their candidate.

What does Sarah Palin have to gain by supporting another candidate - particularily Newt Gingrich?

If Palin had the good sense to keep her mouth shut, she might have been in line for a patronage job with a future the Romney Administration.

Obama should win in 2012, but Romney's chances should be pretty good in 2016, especially if Biden remains the VP.

"Mycroft" shouldn't consider giving up his day job and going into the political forcasting business.

1. The political polls have consistently shown that Romney is the one and only Republican/Tea Party candidate that would have a "snowball's chance in hell" of being competitive with Obama in the 2012 General Election.

2. The Republican "establishment" already know this, which explains why so many have already endorsed Romney. The Karl Rove "types" in the Party would be willing do everything in their power to ensure that Gingrich, Paul, Santorum and Perry don't get the nomination.

3. It makes no sense for the "liberals" to undermine the campaigns of Palin and Cain - it was the Republican "establishment," not the Democrats, who felt "threatened" when they were riding high in the polls.

4. Herman Cain accused the Perry Campaign, not the Democrats of leaking information concerning his harrassment settlements to Politico. Strategically, the Democrats would have been much farther ahead if they withheld that "juicy tidbit" until after Cain won the GOP nomination and then released it during the 2012 General Election.

5. Gingrich may be a good debater but how could "family values" supporters possibly vote for a candidate who has repeatedly "cheated" on his first two wives? How threatened should the Gemocrats be with a candidate who was forced to resign from the Speakers position in the House by his fellow Republicans?

Palin will be Gingrich's VP.

If I can find the interview where he all but said as much, I will post it.

Pretty shrewd of Gingrich if you ask me... he needs to shore up some of the women vote.

Women voters are probably his biggest weakness right now, with all the marital "baggage" he has.

I think Gingrichs problem, is that almost every single thing he says, has a hint, just a touch of dickishness.

Candidates for President need likeablity, and he just doesn't have it.

In Gingrich's case, "dickishness" could be considered a double entendre!

You are looking at him with liberal tinted glasses. You have to admit that.

It's the same with Obama. Republicans can and do say that he is "arrogant" on many occasions. To a liberal, that "arrogance" could instead be seen as confidence.

It's a case of not liking his ideology... and then backward rationalizing his personality.

Gingrich has alot more baggage than just the repeated "cheating" on his first two wives - his personal and political judgement are also open to question.

As it turns out, while he was a member on one of the government committees examining Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky, Newt was in the process of conducting his own affair with his 3rd wife - while still married to his 2nd wife.

Then there was the matter of the "palace revolt" by the GOP over his role as Speaker of the House which eventually resulted in Newt being forced to resign by members of his own party.

Gingrich also had 84 ethics charges filed against while he was Speaker of the House. After much negotiation he was eventually sanctioned and fined $300,000 by a 395–28 House vote. This was the first and only time in American history, that a speaker was found guilty of ethics violations.

Just because I say something you don't agree with, doesn't mean I look at it through liberal tinted glasses.

He's a dickhead, plain and simple. He just comes across as an asshole, speaking plainly as a human being assessing a persons tone and mannerisms.

It would seem with the libs that the "honorable" way to cheat is as their first messiah, Bill Clinton, did. Stay married and keep cheating !!

This is too funny. :)

So you're unaware of your own bias and how it affects your perceptions.

- cheated on his first 2 wives

- called for Clinton's resignation while having an affair with his 3rd wife - while still married to his 2nd wife

- faced 84 ethics charges while Speaker of the House, resulting in a formal sanction and $300,000 fine

- 1st Speaker in American history to be convicted of ethic violations

- forced by members of own party to resign as Speaker

Does "Eighty Deuce" or "Peter Grimm" really want to have Gingrich representing the Republican Party in the 2012 General Election with this kind of baggage?

1. I know polls mean a lot to some people...the media and liberals, more that others...certainly more than to me. It's too bad a lot of candidates and a lot of voters rely on polls when making their decisions. IMO, Gingrich has the ability to run circles around Obama in a Presidential campaign...and I think THAT'S what liberals fear the most.

2. Yes, it's unfortunate that Romney has been selected by the Republican establishment...as well as the liberal media and the liberal elites. It's tough...and indicative...when your own Party leadership is against you. But then, that makes Newt's position that much more meaningful. Against such odds, he is still in a good position.

3. Well, I agree with you that the liberals rarely make sense...but not for the rationalizations YOU present. The facts are that the liberal media and liberals, in general, have spent years bashing, smearing and badmouthing and conservative who gains a little support or attention. It's what they do and it's all they have. They certainly can't run on their record.

4. The fact that the Republicans engage in their own infighting doesn't mean the liberals don't feel threatened, you know.

5. I would just ask how a Democrat, who was known to cheat on his wife before his campaign, during his presidency and who lied about it all to the People could get elected to a first...and second...term?

It would be CLASSIC if the hypocrisy of the so called party of "family values" is exposed by nominating a reptile with the morals of a sewer rat as their candidate.

Only as CLASSIC as the hypocrisy of the so called party of the people is exposed by nominating a minority who's political party pushes welfare and food stamps as a dependency to keep a voting block for the future.

Oh wait.. that already happened.

- cheated on his first 2 wives

So What !! LOL .. this from the Clintonistas.

- called for Clinton's resignation while having an affair with his 3rd wife - while still married to his 2nd wife

Clinton boned the hired help, and then lied about it. We fire CEO's for such.

- faced 84 ethics charges while Speaker of the House, resulting in a formal sanction and $300,000 fine

Yet he was completely exonerated by the IRS and the Courts. He PO'd his political foes on both sides. Oh the horror !

- 1st Speaker in American history to be convicted of ethic violations

But committed no crime. He was exonerated of all original charges. His violations amounted to telling the committee to fornicate themselves.

- forced by members of own party to resign as Speaker

All the more reason to vote for him.

Does "Eighty Deuce" or "Peter Grimm" really want to have Gingrich representing the Republican Party in the 2012 General Election with this kind of baggage?

Absolutely. Maybe you can find an original idea next time too, instead of regurgitating the same old stuff. ;)
