OPINION: Why not ban talk radio?

again, how did the WH try to silence beck? how does calling an advertiser before congress affect beck? who called him before congress? obama? beck advertises for goldline because some of his traditional sponsors have left him.

One would have to be quite ignorant or misinformed to believe that progressives, liberals, and conservatives don't all embrace freedom of speech.

It may be convenient to your distorted world view to believe otherwise, however, it doesn't help you to better see the shortcomings of your party when you harbor false notions about the opposition.

He's been advertising for goldline a long time.
Why would Wiener pick on Goldline when they had an A+ rating? Here's a clue. He hates Glenn Beck. Why did Beck lose a few sponsors? Could that be because the left was trying to get him taken off the air with a boy-cott?

could it be becasue beck plays a bat-**** crazy man on tv? i think maybe that's it. yeah, i'm sure that's it. gold line is a rip-off, and intelligent people know that. don't YOU know that?

No, I don't know that Goldline is a rip-off. How'd they get such a good rating? I thought that would come from satisfied customers.

when msnbc sponsors decide to leave, fine. until then, it's clear the some sponsors don't want to be tainted by beck. btw, CA initiated the investigation against gold line, becasue of the unumber of consumer complaints they had received. still think it's a conspiracy? and what rating are you referring to? BBB? hmmm..

Goldline has an A+ rating and has been in business for 50 yrs. Instead of trying to tear down Goldline, please explain why you think Anthony Weiner chose THEM to pick on?

This is just common sense, really - the whole point to journalism. But sometimes people get thigns wrong - which happens - but FAIL to correct it - completely make no effort to correct an honest mistake.

I think that holding people to an honesty or "correct your errors" standard is a smart idea and one that *should have to be mandatory* when it's serious journalism, etc.

A recent example is from Fox News- they reported a woman to be 'critical and in intensive care' when really she was DEAD. . . did they attempt to correct that or appologize for their error? Nope - they just never touched on it again and moved on.

I think **** like that is *unacceptable* and most other people do, too - and there should be serious consequences to ****ing up without any effort to correct the problem.

Then don't watch it. Do what you or others can to make them accountable. If some people are misinformed and spout nonsense, educate them or get over it. They have just as much right to spout nonsense as you have the right to discuss serious issues. Poor journalism is bad, but any thought that the government can force the media to be more reliable, open, and fair is hopelessly naive.

It's been a long time. I wasn't really into to politics or the dixie chicks. I just remember thinking they were really stupid and probably deserved having their fans turn on them. And man, did they ever turn on them. I'm sorry if that's not the answer you were looking for, but that's all I got.

Dr Laura= My Guess Al Sharpton and the NAACP.
I'm not sure if Dr. Lauras fans think her comments were racist.

I don't really think they were that racist either.

The point IS, regardless of what you think about either of their comments, money greases the wheel. Free speech, hurray! But when people decide to quit paying for it, it's reasonable to assume that line of thinking is out on the perimeter beyond the mainstream and no longer sell-able. Money talks. It's the American way.

All that being said, neither the Dixie Chicks OR "Dr. <rolls eyes> Laura could buy publicity like this. The Chcks made a TON of money off it. Wouldn't surprise me "Dr. <rolls eyes> Laura does too.

P.S. Props to the racist gigs on Sharpton and the NAACP. Slid it right in there under the radar. But I think you over estimate them too much. This was on the front page before either of them got out of bed.

talk radio keeps me awake in the morning and they have all their laughs and its just really entertaining apart from that i like it so ha!!!
