President Obama is still not scheduled to visit the devastated community of West, Texas, where an explosion at a fertilizer plant five days ago killed 14 – including 11 emergency responders – and wounded approximately 200 people.

Up to 75 homes were damaged, as well as an apartment complex that was decimated.

Obama so far has sent prayers and money to the town, but not himself.

If it isn't a big media even, Emir Barry Hussein has no interest in it. Raising $$$? Of course!

If he goes there, complete with his planes, guards, sycopohants, it will cost millions.

Will you then complain about the waste of money? Will Obama dig through the rubble?

What about the millions his current, campaign event is going to cost US, the taxpayers?

Christ almighty, people bitch if he goes, people bitch if he doesn't go...

I'm starting to think America has alot of bitchy people.

That's not the topic though, is it?

You seem to be complaining that Obama has not visited West, Texas. I'm questioning that specifically as being an issue.

None of this really costs the taxpayers anything. They just print as they go;)

I know...you'd think there were 16,000 black folk stuck in in an arena without help for days.

NEW ORLEANS — A 2-year-old girl slept in a pool of urine. Crack vials littered the restroom. Blood stains the walls next to vending machines smashed by teenagers.

The Louisiana Superdome, once a mighty testament to architecture and ingenuity, became the biggest storm shelter in New Orleans the day before Katrina's arrival Monday. About 16,000 people eventually settled in. Within two days, it had degenerated into unspeakable horror. A few hundred were evacuated from the arena yesterday, and buses will take away the remaining people today.

"We pee on the floor. We are like animals," Taffany Smith, 25, said as she cradled her 3-week-old son, Terry. In her right hand she carried a half-full bottle of formula provided by rescuers. Baby supplies are running low; one mother said she was given two diapers and told to scrape them off when they got dirty and use them again.

I'll laugh my ass off if he lands in Midland.

But, there is a Presidential Temporary Flight Restriction for April 25th, so I'm guessing he's coming in then.

Yep. Red state, rural area, thus very low fund raising potential for him. He did mention his sorrow for the losses from the West, TX tragedy, which is quite enough, IMHO. The same folks that would complain that he did not personally visit West, TX would also complain that he wasted funds/time in doing so. Don't mess with Texas is still my best advice for Obama. ;)

Bush Library dedication. All five of them are going to be here

Ah, well...good time to take a quick helicopter tour?

He and FLOTUS. I would imagine he would land in Waco as Bush II did.

I wish Obama would stay out of local events and concentrate on fixing the problems with the country.

Obama can't fix anything.

I don't think the secret service would let him be in the same county of Ted Nugent and George Bush

Every time the man sneezes the right wingers bitch about how much the Kleenex cost the taxpayers, but now they're just SO UPSET he won't fly out to visit a site and hinder cleanup with his presence.

Didn't the left do the same thing with bush and Katrina?

to be fair, if he did go, there would be a bunch of pissed off threads about him doing photo ops. I think he'd do better to send FEMA.

Wow you guys are quicker than a fly on ****:

WASHINGTON -- The White House says President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service for victims of the fertilizer plant explosion in the town of West, Texas.

The service is scheduled for Thursday at Baylor University.
Obama To Travel To West, Texas For Fertilizer Plant Explosion Memorial

That means he is going to do the Bush Library dedication then zip off to Waco (about a 90 minute drive) for this service all in one day.

I bet he has a double standing in at one or the other:2razz:

We would not have had a "West, Texas" if it were not for a "deregulated Texas".
And perry is in Illinois bragging about his climate of low wages and trying to steal more jobs with "West, Texas deregulations".

Yep, Like Bush and the libs - the conservatives do not have the ability to admit when Obama does something good, nor agree with liberals on anything even when it makes sense.

Yeah no kidding build a school across the street and a seniors home close. It is not like there isn't plenty of land around there. And then also looking after the factory to make sure they are doing things properly.

I would say underregulation that leads to disasters like what happened in West is a problem with our country that needs to be fixed.
