NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani - The Ugly Face Of NeoMarxism

Of course I do. You don't understand the difference between Marxism and neoMarxism. You don't understand the difference between Critical Theory and Critical Race Theory. You don't understand how Critical Theory and Critical Race Theory are directly relatable to Marxism and neoMarxism. There's SO much you don't understand.

Still fluff - - nothing of substance.

And here come the tantrums. . .
Excellent, you jumped to CRT. Well done, I knew you could do it. Now could you whine for a while about DEI and perhaps Hunter's Laptop? C'mon, don't lose steam, keep trying to own those leftists!

This is a perfect example of a really lame argument.

There are good arguments to be made, but you really missed the mark. Mamdani's radical leftist views do NOT reflect "actual America". Not even close.

Radical leftism is waning, and many moderate democrats are leaving the Party and becoming independents because they are fed up with NeoMarxist nonsense.
Mamdani is at the far left of the spectrum, trump and MAGA are at the far right of the spectrum, most people are somewhere near the center.

DEI? Hunter's laptop? Really???

You're having even more difficulties with your arguments. You have no sensible argument or point, and now you're desperately trying to divert attention away from that, using unrelated topics.

You probably don't even realize that reveals how highly flawed your position actually is.
C'mon, don't lose steam, keep trying to own those leftists!
"Those leftists" got owned a long time ago. They did it to themselves - just like you are now.

:ROFLMAO:Um, no, not by a long shot. Both Castro and Batista were dictators, but Batista was not a socialist, and that made all the difference. Here are two different streets in Havana, before and after the "revolution":

No, it sure didn’t to the people of Cuba, who were brutally oppressed by the Batista regime, and whose lives improved exponentially once the US backed tyrant was chased out.

You are aware how totally worthless posting two random photos is when it comes to talking about what life is actually like in a country…. Right?

What the Marxist (and even Progressive) left doesn't understand is that property rights and human rights are two sides of the same coin. If you don't respect what is mine, you don't respect me.

That is why so many Marxist experiments end with human slaughter on a massive scale. It starts with "there should be no billionaires" and ends with "there should be no opposition."

Yes but would you say it is the fault of the Classical Marxist Left or the Neo-Marxist Left? And if the latter, would you describe them as neoMarxists, NeoMarxists or NEOMarxists?

See how he ran away when confronted with Marx's actual words on race?

Standard redhat flounce-away.

I don't think semantic games are worth the time.

And because I sense where this is heading, no, I do not think Mamdani is Stalin. I do think he's playing too close to that edge.

Is the far right on the upside of every 80/20 issue? How did that happen?

I was personally hoping that he'd invoke something like Quantum-Dialectical Marxism which posits that the proletariat exists in a superposition of revolutionary and lumpen states, at least until observed by the bourgeoisie. :)

Still, there's still time for him to up his game and attempt to own the left with accusations of Paleo-Marxism, or perhaps Crypto-Marxism.

CRT is not a great leap from Marxism. If you doubt this, I suggest reading up on Critical Theory (the name similarity is not an accident) and the Franklin School. That only real difference between CT and CRT is that race has been substituted for class.

You'll note that I did not describe it as a 'great leap' but instead expressed (a) enthusiasm that the OP made the segue and (b) optimism that he'd keep going and eventually arrive at his logical end state of whining about Hunter's Laptop.

They were also brutally repressed by the Castro regime.

No, the Marxist tyrant was worse. Castro murdered 10x more people than Batista.

GDP is a good indicator. The cuban revolution was in 1959:

The OP is about a politician who can be best described as an enthusiast for lightweight Marxism. Given that CRT has its roots in Marxist doctrine, it's not a big leap.

The OP is about a politician running for the Mayor of New York City. Given that the copy of the drive from the Hunter Biden laptop was given to the New York Post, which has its roots in New York City, it's not a big leap.

You'd have more luck sharing those facts with a flock of pigeons in the park. He's never going to accept them.

Um, you're the one who brought up Hunter, yes?

If the issue is tax cuts for the wealthy you will soon find you are on the 20% side. Same with cutting Medicaid and SNAP. Just because a bunch of
Republicans lacked the balls to stand up to trump, and chose trump over their own constituents does not mean you are on the 80% side.
2026 is coming.

GDP is a terrible indicator unless you normalize it to account for embargo effects imposed upon Cuba from the outside.

You'd think we could find some kind of comfortable middle ground, right? One where we can tax the wealthy but also avoid human rights violations. Personally, I'm not worried about Zohran Mamdani becoming the next Pol Pot. Are you?

But that's a good thing, isn't it? It's good to take old ideas and adapt them for different times and circumstances. Humans have always done that, and been quite successful at it too.

What is “neo” about it

Given that Mamdani's actual policy platform is best described as "mildly progressive tax code to fund more housing and eliminate bus fares" I would agree that there's no Cuban Revolution in the works. Still, if it makes MAGA feel better about things, I'm okay with them having fever dreams about the apocalypse. Heck, according to these folks, my state of California has been "totally destroyed" several times over in the past few months, and yet when I look at the window, it just seems like another peaceful, quiet sunny day.
