NFL 2021

I used to think Joe Montana was the greatest, but now I have to eat my words.

Tom Brady is the GOAT. The way he carved up the Eagles was like he could do it in his sleep. The man in a living legend, and if he doesnt get hurt then I think he will repeat.

I'm not just talking about 1 game..

And when McCarthy was let go by the Packers, no one picked him up for a year.. Many Jet fans here in NY wanted the Jets to hire him. SB winning coach and all that.. But I remember reading stories(don't know if they are true) that when he was GB coach the last couple of years during practices he'd turn it over to the assistants and go back to his office and sleep, or get a massage. In other words, he lost interest, which is probably why no one picked him up for that year he sat out.. Then he had to go begging for a job. Tells me the NFL knew something about him.

Changing the narrative a little bit there

.

No delusions about the Steelers' chances tonight but I'm guessing Mike Tomlin will have his troops better prepared than the New England genius's gang

Ron Howard arrested development voice *

“ he didn’t”

People talk about Mac Jones being limited...

Trevor Lawrence looked AWFUL in Jacksonville

Trey Lance couldn't beat out Jimmy G for the starting QB job

Justin Fields or Zach Wilson? LOL

So the assumption is all those quarterbacks will get better with age and experience, yet that does not apply to Mac Jones? Ya...

This "limited upside" argument is a media narrative creation

I think Mac Jones will be a solid starter like a Derick Carr or Kirk Cousins. He will never be a take over a game like the elite QB’s. Watching him side by side playing against Josh Allen you can see how big of a gap there is.

It’s too early to know how the other QB’s will pan out. I would assume their results would have been significantly better in a better organization. It’s no surprise that Trey Lance wasn’t ready yet. Lawrence will probably be legit with some good coaching. Wilson and Fields are still wait and sees. Davis Mills looks like a decent journey man type.

He only wanted the Jet job? 1 of the worse organizations in sports? Sounds convenient..

Who wouldn't want to be the head coach of the Jets 🤣 🤣 🤣

I have seen the crazy narrative both from cowboy fans and cowboy haters about this all being Jerry's fault and that he is a trash Owner/GM. But everyone agrees the team is loaded with talent, he hired a SB winning coach and we have 2 coordinators that are being sought after to be head coaches. What more should a GM/Owner do?

Who wouldn't want to be HC of the Jets... Belechick... :)

I was talking about McCarthy.. I don't know why you brought up Jones..

Did you watch Josh Allen his rookie year?

Josh wasn’t as pro ready as Mac. It was obvious Allen had the size, speed and arm to be elite. The question with him was accuracy. He seems to have greatly improved in that department. Mac has done a fine job doing what he was asked to do. He didn’t push it down field much. He’ll be a nice pro but not a game a game changer.

Health and Safety protocols should be eliminated from all sports personnel at all levels since the Supreme Court ruled mandatory testing and vaccines unconstitutional.

This is the same USSC that has given you unlimited sports betting across the nation. All 12 nba games today start at different, staggered times. Sports owners are now heavily invested in sports betting hedge funds.

People need freedom. People need choice.

The NFL is business partners with Caesar’s Sports Book and Fanduel, I suspect they will reach an agreement with MGM in the near future.

I’m old enough to remember when the newspapers wouldn’t mention the betting line and the NFL was loathe to locate a franchise in Las Vegas because of the conflict of interest.

The NFL is putting itself in a dangerous situation

The NFL is putting itself in a dangerous situation

Dangerous? From what?

LOL

People have always bet on sports.

That's like saying the NFL is putting itself in a dangerous situation for serving alcohol in the games. OH, THE HUMANITY!

Just like any other enterprise worldwide, squeeze every farthing out, consequences be damned……..

Money, money, money... That's why there were 2 teams in the playoffs that had ABSOLUTELY NO business being in the playoffs... Steelers and Eagles...

Wonder why the Cowboys vs 49'ers game was on CBS? NFC teams, should have been Fox... Cbs paid $70 mil for the 4pm Sunday wild card weekend game... $70 mil, for 1 game...

Money, money, money...

Yes, but having some mediocre teams in the playoffs and tuning to a different channel is not going to hurt the NFL the way a betting scandal would with the NFL being sponsored by so much betting

The money being paid to athletes and coaches now is so big in sports.. I don't think the chances of a 'fix', or a scandal is high... Maybe the Refs and Umps are vulnerable..

But yeah, money corrupts...

Yes, and with the consistency of the refs decreasing it could end up bad at some point. Just the suspicion alone could cause a major impact. The NFL wouldn't be able to survive a Donaghy situation when they are in bed with the betting sports books

I don’t pay much attention to the NBA, did the ref scandal hurt them?

I think it would take an awful lot to get people to turn on the NFL.

I used to be much more of a fan than I am now…..DC is my homer team.

It only hurt them a little because the NBA was firmly against sports betting. Also the NBA covered up the fact that games actually got fixed and Donaghy didn't talk.

The Referring in the NBA is so bad... How could they tell there was a fix?... Lol

MJ goes to the basket, no one touched him, but someone sneezed in the 4th row.. And they call a foul, and Jordan would go to the line..

Next time down the court some no name goes to the basket, has his head taken off, blood on the court... No foul..

1 of the biggest reasons I stopped watching basketball.. The Refs have to much control...
