NC Republicans pass bill so that mail-in ballots that are postmarked by election day don't count

Lol, by the time the election happens in 2022, election procedure conversations might be almost moot. How voters feel about what is going on in the country might (and I'd argue, should) define the 2022 election.
LMAO…. You might be right… People are seeing very clearly the desperation of the GOP and what they are willing to do to try and stay in power.

No presidential election has ever been decided on election day. It has never worked like this.

Yes, it's unreasonable to expect. Just because you never knew how the process really unfolds doesn't mean the rest of us should have to change the law to accommodate your feelings.

Of course they all have been. The votes are cast. The issue then commences to the ministerial work on counting the cast ballots.

"One of the measures passed would cut off the acceptance of mail-in ballots to the day of the election. North Carolina currently allows such ballots to be accepted up to three days after Election Day as long as the mail is dated by Election Day, The Associated Press reported.

The measures were passed along party lines by Republicans. But unlike other GOP-controlled state legislatures that have passed voting measures, North Carolina has a Democratic governor who is likely to veto the bills, the AP reported. "

It is difficult for this poor old country mouse to see a chain of causality in which the difference in the postmark date of a day or so prevents voter fraud.

Regards, stay safe 'n well.

I assume this will be challenged ..........appealed.
The only good news is North Carolina has a democratic governor who will veto this crap.

It's the States that have Republican politicians and governors who are in trouble.

After Congress fixed a uniform national election day for electors (started 1844), most of the time the country knew the next day or within a day or two who was elected.
There were a few outlier elections (1876,1888, 2000, 2020) though when it took longer.
Knowing who statistically should win (due to statistics and assumptions) and having counted all the votes are very different things. Almost every election in the US has not finished counting all the votes within a week or two of election day.

Ok, then you are arguing about something completely irrelevant. Thanks for the clarification.
