Nadler to Barr: Here’s my counteroffer — and a new contempt threat

Pledging an oath doesn't magically make someone perfectly remember 100s of pages. The only thing irrelevant is your utterly flawed position.

So since it's impossible to ask anyone to remember anything, let's just do away with testimony altogether, right?

My flawed position? Funny. You're using LOTR analogies.

Then he should study the report more carefully the second time around. Mueller provided him with documents for the release of the report. He opted to not use them. Maybe he needs Mueller to help him do his thinking. And his job.

Still not going to be a perfect memory, no matter what. I have no more motivation to speak about your fantastical beliefs any further. You're dismissed.

ole Fish pushing Deep State conspiracies...Bwauahaha!

I stated actual facts so I'm not sure what you're going on about.

So, just so you're aware, Mueller is the one who reports to Barr, not the other way 'round. While Mueller generally worked independently his job was to hand the report to Barr so that Barr could decide what to do with it. Barr was under NO OBLIGATION to entertain Mueller's wishes with regard to whether the report was released or in what manner it would be released.

Destroyed me. Now you're just acting dopey.

So you want Congress to stop having hearings forever, right? I mean, because nobody can be expected to remember everything. Right? So if they haul, let's say, Hillary Clinton down to the Hill and ask her questions, you'll say they are being unreasonable, because after all, nobody can remember anything.

Why don't we just do away with testimonies altogether. Nobody can remember anything.

We have the Special Counsel report. Everything going on now is a clown show for self-aggrandizement. This is why you have people bringing in a bucket of chicken to eat in front of everyone.

We have a President who may have obstructed justice. Real Americans would like to know what went on. Yes, we know you Trump fans don't care. He will always come before country to you.

Hey wow, before you posted that, I'll bet nobody knew that the Special Counsel reported to the AG! Did you just find that out today, and wanted to come share with the rest of the class that you finally got through your coloring book?

Seems to me that Mueller wasn't impeded at all and there isn't a shred of evidence that he wasn't able to do his job.

I hope you're OK! It's terrible to watch someone getting "destroyed!" on a debate forum, so here's to a quick recovery, if you're able. So sorry for your troubles. ;)

FWIW, my own 'rule' is a party to a debate declaring that he or she has 'destroyed' someone else in an argument is the equivalent of an own-goal, so I suspect you'll have a quick recovery. :peace

That Deep State is so scary. It's like the monster in the closet.

The funny thing is that Jim Jones's supporters also believed there was a Deep State. Hmmm.....

Seems to me I didn't say he was. But hey, Barr couldn't exonerate Trump of obstruction. Mueller couldn't do it either. But that's good enough for you, because Trump is sexy and he promises you a job.

I love it when they say they destroyed someone, or dismiss someone. It's like throwing up the white flag without being able to admit to yourself that you're doing it.

Too bad Barr lied publicly about the executive summaries containing grand jury information and couldn't be released publicly, then lied about Mueller not having ayn issue with his handling of the report, and now there's a letter that proves it all.

Barr slow walked the report and cherry picked lines in the summary for political purposes. It's obvious to anyone with an ounce of insight.

If Holder tried this ****, the GOP would burn him at the stake, and you god damn well know it.

And just so you're aware, these rules only exist because of Starr's runaway impeachment brigade.

Oh it’s real alright. And it’s being run by Bigfoot and the autopsied alien in Area 51.

Ole Fish and other fake "Libertarian's" are quickly moving into political irrelevance like their father and son heroes the Paul's. Rand is another proud Trump toadie after he got thrashed by him in the primaries.

Then why wasn’t Trump charged with obstruction?

I was a fan of Ron, but never voted for him in the primaries. I used to think Rand was a good guy, until he lost oxygen from placing his head firmly up Trump's large posterior. Mr. Small Government turned out to be not so small after all.

Standard operating procedure. Cf Watergate hearings. Barr knows that.
It's really not all that standard, and this is nothing like Watergate.

Oh really? So you expect him to have 100% memory of the entire report? Interesting opinion...it's a stupid opinion, but interesting non-the-less.

Well considering he didn't read the report I guess he couldn't now could he???

I've never much supported Republican politicians particularly on a national level, but I did like Jon Huntsman. He was intelligent and sane, which I guess is too much to ask for in Trump's race baiting and conspiracy theory pushing GOP.
