It says select one in the title, but as I was making it I realized multiple selections is more suitable.

Single-choice is more suitable. Obviously you can't love, like,; feel neutral about, dislike, and hate your job at the same time.

I can't vote because I am unemployed.

Some options could apply to multiple categories so I made it multiple

Well I early-retired, so I don’t work anymore, but my last job was with Lexus, and I absolutely loved it. The job was fun, the people were great, and the work wasn’t hard.

I still dream about my job from time to time. Not sure what that means, other than I have weird dreams often anyway. Last night, Bobby Flay was a zombie. 🧟‍♂️

I came to the realization years ago that I'm never going to love my job. I'm just not wired that way. But I have a job that I'm good at, pays well, offers good work-life balance, and doesn't make me hate my life. I count that as pretty good.

I voted Okay, I don’t. Mind it. I do shipping and receiving for a large medical supply company.

But, if I could somehow get rich I would never come back.

I think compared to my usual min wage jobs with no benefits and shitty work it’s marginally better.

Like if someone was eating boiled chicken with no seasoning their whole life and then was suddenly introduced to KFC. They would think KFC was better. but KFC is not the greatest still

I love my job, but the work is really physical and I'm not a spring chicken anymore :) It also doesn't pay enough to sustain independence, even if I were to accept one of the full time managerial positions for my department. I'd need to become an ASM or Store Manager for that. :)

I co own a plumbing business with my husband, I run the books. I also co own a business with my son, we make purses and odd things out of recycled material, and sell them, I love it. As a hobby I write game music for people making their own games which also pays a bit, and I'm a cover artist for some of the big game songs. My family is full of self starters. Never a dull moment. lol

I work better in unique situations.

Is your husband left wing? It seems like most business owners are right wingers

Not at the same time but who doesn’t know people who have gone through phases, sometimes daily, regarding their employment. So it quite possible to have a love-hate relationship with your job.

Since i own the place....yeah i kinda like it here

But i can say in honesty that i have never had a job i hated or detested....and most were jobs i absolutely loved

It was one of the life lessons my dad and grandad stressed as i grew up.....

Find something you absolutely LOVE, and then figure out a way to get paid doing it every day

You will learn all there is to know about the subject, get better at it, and will make a good living

So i have either been very lucky, very blessed, or a combination of the two.....to never dread the alarm going off and having to go to work

Best thing to ever happen to me.

Or, more precisely, ONE of the best things to ever happen to me. The other 2 are getting married, and having kids.

And like my job, they're filled with good days, and bad days. Sometimes I want to quit. Other times, quitting isn't enough...I want to burn the place to the ground.

I'm retired now but when I was working I loved my engineering job. At least for the first 25 years. Then the last 6 years seem to drag on and I knew it was time to move on. The thing I liked about it was you got to be part of a huge project that employed hundred of other engineers. It's like a little city full of all intelligent people, there was a lot of drama too. Many broken marriages. People spent more time at work than with their families. Toward the end I actually got to use some of the more advanced math that I learned in school.

I retired in 2020 but for 25 years or so I worked at a financial industry utility that automates clearing and settlement of securities transactions as well provides liquidity and risk mitigation to the NYSE. I loved my job especially in the later years when I spent a lot of time managing/tutoring recent college grads and leading a globe spanning team - NY, FLA, TX, London, Tokyo and India - that was doing some pretty cutting edge stuff with search engines and widely distributed databases. They gave me and about 115 others at my level of the organization a package on 8/30/2020. I was 59 and had worked, at least part time, continuously for 50 years (I had a paper route at 9). Decided screw it and retired. Had they not packaged me out I would have gcontinued working - though my wife is happy I stopped, she says I'm much more pleasant to be around now that I don't have work stresses. In truth the corporate environment was beginning to suck, or maybe I just couldn't tolerate any more bullshit but despite that I still enjoyed my work and the talented people I was privileged to lead.

Today I work as a musician - doing bar, club gigs and some for hire and recording sessions etc and similarly love it and the people I work with. I would also like to get back into flight instructing - I instructed years ago before job and kids took all my time.

A means to an end?

I work to make money. No more, no less.

I don't have an "employer" as I do independent contracting. I have no real emotional investment in the work product that I provide, I'm good at it and it provides financial reward and it isn't difficult for me. I pick engagements that I can at least find somewhat interesting...but if I didn't want the money, I wouldn't do it.

My husband? He loves what he does. It is "in his blood". He'll probably be actively involved if not in our business then in the industry and as a hobby until the day that he dies or is no longer physically capable of being involved.

I don't have that kind of passion about what I do. Not by any stretch.

I love what I do. I'm trusted and left to my own decisions. Technically speaking, I really don't work for anyone. I go into a equipment and lay down yard 3-4 days a week at my leisure and start doing repairs or some welding on whatever piece of equipment I think needs it. The owner gave me a company VISA to order whatever I need. I usually start by 5:30-6:00 and I'm out the gate by 12:30-1:00 pm. The owner calls or texts me every Thursday asking what he owes me and his wife sends it to my credit union. I save him big money by him not having to use the Caterpillar or Takeuchi dealerships for doing all his work at a $130 per hour shop rate.

I still run a few contracting side jobs here and there, (mostly paint, trim, and drywall) but I'm not renewing my state contractor's license after this year.

I'll be chasing the almighty dollar until it's no longer fun.

We are both progressives. We run into both, it depends. A few of the contractors we work with are Trumpers, but hey, they still need a plumber and our crew is really efficient. We just don't talk politics, but they know who we are, we are upfront about it. We do work with some really progressive contractors tho, one female contractor who's married to her female partner and she gets tons of work.

It's a real mix out there, especially with more women getting into the construction field. I'm glad to see it.

My job is fine. Kind of boring but I don’t really think about it once I close my laptop in the early evening. I ran businesses for other people for years and burnt out doing that. 60-70 hour weeks, always on, always thinking or dreaming about work. Now I earn less but have a great work live balance. Plus I’ve started a little side business that I intend to grow until I can quit my job.

Awesome!

It's always nice to meet another musician. :) What kind of music do you do?

My job is kind of awesome. I am always tackling new and interesting questions and I pretty much have a blank check to grow my career in any way I want, as long as its within the company goals (which is a set of topics).
