Moscow Skyscraper Talks Continued Through ‘the Day I Won,’ Trump Is Said to Acknowledge
WASHINGTON — President Trump was involved in discussions to build a skyscraper in Moscow throughout the entire 2016 presidential campaign, his personal lawyer said on Sunday, a longer and more significant role for Mr. Trump than he had previously acknowledged.
The comments by his lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani indicated that Mr. Trump’s efforts to complete a business deal in Russia waned only after Americans cast ballots in the presidential election.
The new timetable means that Mr. Trump was seeking a deal at the time he was calling for an end to economic sanctions against Russia imposed by the Obama administration. He was seeking a deal when he gave interviews questioning the legitimacy of NATO, a favorite talking point of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. And he was seeking a deal when, in July 2016, he called on Russia to release hacked Democratic emails that Mr. Putin’s government was rumored at the time to have stolen.
Yet another instance of a Trump story changing as facts become known which contradict the earlier words.

Oh my....You mean that a businessman that builds hotels and resorts internationally was trying to build a hotel internationally until he won the Presidency? The horror!
Using the prospect of having the office of the Presidency for the sole purpose to further one’s own financial ambitions used to be considered a bad thing in this country.

So, if someone is running for President of the United States they are supposed to end all business they are doing before they win said office? That seems stupid....
Trump was willing to expose himself to Russian counterintelligence [kompromat] for a $300 million profit.
He knew this duplicity wouldn't play well with America writ large, so Team Trump tried to hide this transactional facet of The Donald.
Similar with the harlots and Trumps adultery, these ugly things had to be hidden from Americans before election day.

So, what you are saying, is that if anyone considers even running for president, they have to give up their current business to do so...And if they don't win, what then?Yes. They are wanting to become the President of the United States. The leader of the Free World. The most powerful person on the planet.
Using the pursuit of that position to solely pursue one’s own business interests used to be considered a bad thing.
Maybe one day it will be that again. Hopefully soon.

Ok...that's part of what he does...is that illegal?Trump wasn't negotiating to "BUILD" a hotel. He was negotiating "NAME" rights to call it a Trump hotel. Nuance, don't ya' know?

What? You mean a politician said something that wasn't 100% true to you? Shocking!FACT: During his entire presidential campaign, Trump was actively pursuing building a tower in Moscow while publicly claiming he had absolutely no business in Russia.
And the Russians knew it.

Was it illegal for his company to pursue building a hotel in Moscow?

The horror is him lying about it to the American people.
But then, you already knew that when you wrote your post.

What proof do you have that he even knew about where in this process his company actually was?
I would say that by the time someone isnthe presumptive nominee with a good chance of becoming the President, that yes, ceasing business associations... especially with foreign governments and foreign banks under sanction of the government you are wanting to lead is the very least of what we should expect from a Presidential candidate. No one is forced to seek the office of the President. It is their choice to do so.
If it isn’t a bad thing... why did they try to hide it?
No one said this. Many American presidents have had business interests.
Your problem (and Trumps problem) is having his willingness to be security-compromised for a profit revealed.
There is no excuse for that, and no parallel of secretly cavorting with the enemy in American history.
I don't think he did....I think that sitting at the head of a hotel/resort empire like Trump did, he doesn't specifically know ALL of the stages in process of every project...
