MLB ⚾️ 2023

I think Atlanta has a good system, similar to what the Astros have had for the better part of the last decade. They've set themselves up to call up good players and to use trades and FA to plug in the replacement parts as this team ages and loses its own stars to FA.
If they can lose Freeman and not miss a beat I can't argue with your point.

They have the best power hitter in the league. I'd still probably take the best version of Freddie Freeman over anyone ATL has but as a team, Atlanta's got what it takes.

Hurricane Hillary has caused the rescheduling of Sunday’s home games at SD, LAD, and LAA to be split DHs tomorrow. All lines are off for these games at this moment.

The Angels completely ****ed up by holding on to Ohtani and trying to trade around him. They're 7.5 games out of the wild card and falling fast. They blew up their farm system to get the likes of Giolito and Cron, in an effort to keep Ohtani.

Complete disaster by the Halos.

Yeah I cannot understand what the thinking was there, but I guess the easy answer is, there wasn't any. Angels clearly need better team management.

The Angles are a shit show. The LA Times published an opinion piece yesterday saying Anaheim should boot both the owner and the team from the city.

Maybe the A's could relocate to Anaheim and the Angels to Las Vegas, lol

I would take the Angels over the A's. Never liked the A's but have been a fan of the Angles in the past.

Either that or the most jinxed team in MLB

Giving up on Ohtani and a wild card wasn’t an option.
38 home games with Ohtani & big crowds after the ASB at least trying for fans was.
Angels are beating Glasnow 7-5 in the 5th of two games before Hilary arrives.

Since 💰 is the bottom line, the Angels have certainly received a whole lot more with Ohtani so they can chase after free agent pitching. Imagine the crowds with him gone.

A few prospects wasn’t worth it and would have been laughed at, scorned.
I don’t blame them for not doing as they were told to.

I understand it would have been unpopular with fans to ship him, but as far as I know he had never expressed serious interest in returning as an Angel next season. That makes him trade bait as far as I'm concerned.

Pepiot had to be a welcome sight with Gonsolin going down. Eury Perez was great for MIA, but home plate was friendly to pitchers both ways.

None of us know what teams were low-ball offering for him.
It was a no-win for the Angels so they tried to win a wild card.
Maybe perennially hurt Rendon and now Trout could have helped.
What teams are ready to pay him and allow his rules for days rest between starts?

The good news, sort of, was that he's been bad all year so losing him isn't that important of a piece. The bad news is that the Dodgers have to rely on an un-battle tested arm.

I like what I saw for 5 innings from Pepiot.
He’s at the head of the next class coming, of which the Sox got one in the Lynn trade.
You really can’t depend on a normal Buehler either.
Urias has been building back. We’ll see tonight.

Kershaw and Urias and pray for rain.

Yeah I got on my fantasy baseball this morning... Saw 'no game' next to a bunch of my players...

Didn't hit me at 1st,WTH was going on... It's Sunday, everybody plays...

Then it finally hit me... I'm old and slow...

Hilary with potential catastrophic east of San Diego on a north/south line.
Insufferable heat/humidity here peaking on Thursday.
High school 🏈 🎾 ⚽⛳️ will have to adjust with extra 💧 breaks.

Kershaw and Urias and pray for rain.
Lou Burdette wasn’t bad. My Dad was a Boston Braves fan being from the northeast.

The dodgers and angels were forced into a double header yesterday. Climate injustice. Not sure about San Diego. Chargers are playing today at around 4 pm which is supposedly when the shit starts coming down hard.

Best wishes to all of you in CA. I’ve seen past mud slides and burn scars.
Preparing for a potential weather onslaught is another thing mlb got correct.
Not sure about San Diego.
SD lost a DH to AZ.
With your ❤️ for SD, thought you’d be up on that. 😜

Leave it to the nfl to be climate ignorant and put the lives of all involved at risk.

This was the attendance tonight in Oakland between 2 teams who have almost lost 190 games combined.
I haven't seen figures this bad since The last 4 seasons of The Exoos.
