Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET[W:134, 926]

Re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET

why would seniors in any state support a ticket that has already cut medicare by 550 billion? why would they support a ticket that will drown their kids in debt? why would they support a ticket that would increase their tax bills? why would they support a ticket that will reduce the quality and quantity of their healthcare options.

Because they know where their interests lie and who will better protect them.

Re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET

No....actually just the opposite. Seniors are smart and they vote....which is why Romney just wrote Florida off. Strategically speaking, the only way that Ryan makes sense is that Romney must have conceded that Florida was lost and that he needed to energize the right-wing base (ala Sarah Palin). This is clearly a "hail mary" pass and I suspect that it will have the same effect that Sarah Palin did.

Ryan is not Palin. He is not a blathering idiot. I suspect he will solidify a few more right and hard right votes, but will fail to pick or perhaps even turn off independent votes

Protect them??????? By taking more of their money, by reducing medicare benefits? exactly how is that protecting them?

Re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET

dream on, you give the senior citizens of florida too little credit. they see through the obama lies. Fla will be red. sorry, obama's attempt to turn the USA into a socialist dictatorship has failed.

No Bobcat, you're missing the plot. Obviously this pick means losing Florida. Seniors don't want to pay a couple/few thousand extra dollars a month just so rich people can get even more tax cuts. What this pick means is that Romney's team concluded that there was no way they could win Florida, so might as well just give up on it for something else... But what that something is, I'm not sure. Ryan actually does not have very high approval ratings in Wisconsin and it seems somewhat unlikely that Romney has a shot there. And Wisconsin doesn't really have enough electoral votes to be crucial anyways. It will certainly drive teabagger turnout, but the teabaggers primarily live in states that Romney was already the clear winner. In fact, the trickle down message plays very, very, poorly in the midwest as a whole, so I think he's going to take some hits all across that region... I dunno. Doesn't make a lot of sense. "Political malpractice" is the line that most the political pundits are using to describe the choice and I think that may just be the case.

That's what I am saying.....you are correct, Paul is MUCH smarter than Palin...however Ryan will turn off even more of the indepenent vote than Palin did.

Romney's internal numbers must have told him that he was losing big, especially in Florida or else he would have never gone with this selection. This will help Romney carry Wisconsin, but it hurts him so much more. I think Romney was afraid that the teabaggers were going to stay home and that the ONLY shot he had was to try to energize the extremist base of the GOP.

Nope Ryan is not Palin... but Romney is getting close with all his gaffes and flip flops...

Re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET

what????????????

You know, No child left behind, the failed W. education program.

your comment made me thing of it --

obama's attempt to turn the USA into a socialist dictatorship has failed.

You comment was so completely idiotic, I though that's what happens when we don't invest properly in education.

"socialist dictator"??

your accurate recitation of the left wing talking points is noted, good job.

they are all lies, but you parroted them quite well.

the problem is that the voters also see them as lies and talking points, obama is done in florida and the rest of the country, the people are fed up with incompetent leadership and mismanagement of their hard earned money. Because THE DID BUILD IT AND THEY ARE PROUD OF IT.

Hope that helps.[/QUOTE]

Nice bridge. But it didn't build anyone's business or everyone would have a business. But thanks for trying.

"socialist dictator"??

NCLB was another failed socialist program, makes no difference who proposed it, socialist programs always fail.

can you in good conscience deny that obama has a far left ideology? Have you read his books, have you studied his mentors?

LOL...if Obama is "Done in Florida" how do you account for the fact that even prior to the Ryan selection Obama was winning Florida by anywhere between 3-9 points in every major poll?

re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET[W:134]

the voters will decide if they want more left wing marxism from obama, or a common sense economics approach from romney/ryan.

for us to debate it is fun but somewhat of a waste of time.

both side will try to misrepresent the others positions etc. the campaign will be dirty and nasty. the voters will have to sort it out and decide how they want the country run for the next 4 years. Obama's record is there for everyone to see, his failed campaign promises are glaring and obvious.

the logic and reason of the romney/ryan plan is also there for all to see and study.

the voters will decide.

Spoken like that true Californian who believes it is the government's role to provide for people like you. Let's have a substance debate and stop with the lies and distortions. Romney and Ryan aren't destroying SS for Seniors who won't be affected by the Ryan Budget. that is total dishonesty on your part as Bowles/Simpson came up with a similar proposal.

I want a debate on the substance and when that happens conservatives win that debate all the time. It will be the Obama record on the ballot in November and it is that record that will make Obama a one term President or at least it should unless there are more Obamabots than the country can afford.

a poll of 1200 registered voters means nothing. show me a poll of 120,000 likely voters and we can talk. Polls are attempts to influence public opinion, not to report on it.

Re: Mitt Romney announcing VP selection tomorrow (Saturday), 9 ET

Romney just flushed the electoral votes of Florida right down the toilet with this disaster of a VP selection. He lost the state.

Thank you Mittens.

Aw, yes, your opinion noted but as with all your arguments they are flawed. Seniors aren't affected by the Ryan Budget so continue to spout the DNC lies. The Obama record cut over 500 billion out of Medicare and doctors all over the country aren't accepting Medicare that speaks volumes about Obama policies. Looks to me like someone who apparently failed in the private sector now becoming a proponent of a Govt. central economy

LOL.....I know that the irony escapes you of calling for an "honest debate" on substance.....I'll just leave it at that.

Any so called independent that hasn't made up their mind by now are too stupid to vote. The choice is clear and a choice that I always wanted, Govt. Central economy vs. the Private Sector economy. Always could not wait for a sustantive debate to show liberals how foolish they are. Anyone that believes keeping more of their money is an expense to the govt. deserves to be on Leno in the "Jay-Walking" segment

how is that liberal philosophy working out for the california budget? How is democrat control of your state working out? Broke, in the red. great success story for liberalism ain't it?

Nice bridge. But it didn't build anyone's business or everyone would have a business. But thanks for trying.

Most our shopping is done in a town called Bollinbrook.... Target, Best Buy, Sports Authority, pizza, shopping, movie theaters... All on the other side of the bridge. Yes, that's where we spend our money... down the public road across the public bridge.
