But they were not making fun of a white family adopting a black baby, they were saying the picture of a bunch of white people around a black person was like looking like the GOP at a convention.

You're correct I can't deny she got caught up in the humor. However, she never criticized the Romney's for adopting a black baby. She supports interracial adoptions. Do you accept what she said on her show yesterday?

Among the images we aired was one of the Romney family that showed Governor Mitt Romney’s grandchildren, including his adopted grandson who is African American. Now given my own family history, I’d identified with that picture and I intended to say positive and celebratory things about it.

It was a two part question. My bad. I listen to conservative talkers and honestly, I've heard hyperbole from Limbaugh that some would say was offensive. The other talkers differ on policy but don't rise to the level of Perry or Bashir with respect to their level of vitriol. Granted, both apologized after a hail storm of public outrage.

I think her apology is acceptable and I don't think it was a fire-able offense in the first place. I do think she deserves every bit of criticism for treating adoption so callously. Politics got the better of her and she lost sight that people, even public figures, can do good things by virtue of them being good and not for political points. It's a bit personal considering my family has a similar situation.

What this really means is, "I'm sorry for being an asshole and offending every single person on earth who has adopted a child from a race or ethnicity other than their own. I'm also sorry because I have been threatened with termination should I not be sorry. I am not sorry, however, for insulting Romney, because he probably deserves it since I disagree with his politics, but I'm not going to say that publicly."

The one thing you can take from this story is that the MSM blew this way out of proportion, proving that the media doesn't have a liberal bias.Their bias is for the sensational stories. A picture of a black baby and a few laughs is all they need. Never once did they mention Melissa's Mormon background and the fact she encourages interracial adoptions. Why spoil a good story about a black liberal woman with some truth?
