I don't even like McConnell, and I know that politicians aren't always honest. But everything they said there is 100% accurate! Pelosi and Schumer WANT the American people to suffer, directly as a result of their insistence on inconsistent and Draconian lockdowns, and because they intentionally block relief bills. So far the Dems were willing to cut their bill by 1 Trillion dollars, how much have the Repubs been willing to raise their to meet someplace in the middle. Personally I believe the Repubs are stalling as much as they can so that they can claim right before and election that they did it for the American People along with trump claiming it to be his work. If McConnell were serious he would have entered negotiations with Schumer and Pelosi. He was not because Trump obviously thought his EO’s would “save the day” and generate votes.

McConnell recessed the Senate in mid August and is only returning now. And still with no second stimulus agreement with the US House.

McConnell/Mnuchin/Meadows all abdicated their responsibilities as Americans suffered.

It was a pile of **** that spend almost as much on Dem wish list items as it earmarked for actuall Covid relief.

The bill is half that that McConnell pushed a month ago, there is not stimulus payment and little else for the average worker, not to mention a large number of Repubs (not up for re-election) don't want any bill at all. If McConnell want to pass any bill it will have to be with Dem support hence he will have to do better or face an angry voting public in November.

I guess we'll see whether McConnell can get 50 votes for anything. What we know is nothing has passed the Senate, and if he has maybe 40 GOP votes, he needs 10 more, which means negotiating in good faith with Democrats. If he's not able to do that - get 10 Democrats to vote yes - that's his failure.
