I think everyone here understands the concept of profits and losses. My beef is with a tax code, created by people like Trump, to benefit people like Trump. The super wealthy are able to be fiscally reckless and it only helps them on tax day.
I guess it's a rather quaint, outdated notion that Americans should contribute to the greater good, especially those most equipped to contribute. To see a man like DJT, who shits in gold toilets and trades in his mail order bride every few years for something newer, to claim he is unable to afford to contribute even as much as mechanics and retail clerks is outrageous.
And, what's worse is the "so what" attitude of republican working stiffs who treat him like a fair player because, SOMEHOW, such shameless exploitation of our nation has been cemented in law. As conservatives convulse with indignation about couch potatoes who dare to accept and sustain themselves with unearned chump change, in the form of food and housing assistance, they shrug off these most glaring examples of exploitation by the filthy rich.
How low our country has fallen when a third of the population no longer maintains ANY patriotic expectation from those MOST served by our system and actually runs political interference for them. A sort of religion of which a loathing for common people and for the government itself has come to replace the rational duty of citizenship. It must be a religion for the president himself, who has ignored the emoluments clauses, who drips wealth, to be immune from the same civic responsibility as those who clean the bathrooms in his golf courses.
There's a vast difference between earning wealth through work and extracting it through exploitation. There's a difference to me, I mean. Clearly, the conservatives are loathe to treat rich crooks any different than actual entrepreneurs.
