I agree that early on the lockdowns were important! Had we overwhelmed our medical facilities, it would have been a real disaster.Without lockdowns or social distancing. With lockdowns and social distancing, COVID-19 deaths will be more than double that number by February when it will be one year old in the U.S. So COVID-19 is far more than twice as deadly as the worst flu season in more than 60 years.
Our knowledge, of treatments for Covid-19 has not remained static, and fewer and fewer cases need hospitalization.
The ratio of cases to deaths, dropped as we learned more. In New York, the ratio was 6.99%, While the later peak in Texas was only 2.05%.
I think we are past the point where the total lockdown is helpful.
We still need to be very cautious wit our Seniors, but the risks for those below age 55 is minimal.
