Exactly. Short sighted folks will never understand this, and instead focus on silly things like this being a defense of the individual rather than what the government has done and would be able to do to others. The administration though of their base as easily fooled since they went with the tactic of vilifying Garcia rather than defending their own actions, which they couldn't given their own admission he was mistakenly deported to El Salvador despite a court order preventing it.

Hint for MAGA: it wasnt re: studen loans. He accepted the SCOTUS rulings and re-wrote legislation.

I say he should get his due process and if found guilty serve his time and then get booted out of this country. It is a shame Biden and Harris created this problem and how much will cost the tax payers to remove all the criminals and terrorist they let walk into our country. Thank god their pathetic reign is over.

Well, Biden and Harris didn't create the problem with this particular individual, since ICE never challenged the 2019 withholding removal order and instead granted him a work permit. Now in 2025, the current administration once again dropped the ball by not follow the court ruling and imprisoned him without charge in a foreign prison, which was in the very country he was not supposed to be deported to. I guess you can be thankful for Biden and Harris not being in office, but that's been traded in for idiots who can't even get deportations right then double down on their mistake and claim they are powerless to bring him back, yet here he is facing charges the government never bothered to file before.

I like illegal immigrants. They are good people. They are productive and family oriented. They are also hard working people. It is a lie to describe them as being criminals and terrorists. The vast majority of them are just regular people looking for a good job.

I don't know. I don't have omniscience. My concern, all the same, remains your insistence that Garcia violated due process by arriving in the US. A most generous interpretation of that claim would involve assuming a profound ignorance of civics.

Sure, because it was reported on quite a bit. Did you not follow the news? Various groups protested against Biden as well, calling him out on following through with deportations. Odd you don't know this.

To wit, Garcia could be a villainous wife puncher deserving only opprobrium and (1) he could not violate any due process anywhere by crossing a border without papers; (2) I would still demand his right to due process be protected because it's also my gods be damned right to due process.
