Justice Department tellsFerguson police tostopwearing bracelets

You do know that every black and white person in the USA is a separate human being with their own life to live outside of the group that they belong to, eh?

We know that, but Libbos can't fathom that reality.

If that's your only point, he was working at the time he shot Brown, OK, fine, he was working. Glad we got that straightened out.

One would hope the DOJ would follow this sage advice, but not under this Attorney General and President.

Employees of the DOJ have said in public that they're taking Michael Brown's side in this against Wilson? Can you quote anyone on that?

No, I can't control the irrational behaviour of protestors nor the racial animus they have in their hearts. Nor do I expect to bow to that irrational behaviour nor that racial animus. You may want to, I don't.

I think I'm done with this topic. You've obviously decided who the bad guys are and it's the black community of Ferguson, and so their concerns can't be valid and Brown must have deserved killing, which is why the cops abandoning any pretense of objectivity, while on duty in uniform, while serving this community, is no big deal. I can't have a reasoned debate with that viewpoint.

When you say, "stereotype an entire crowd", are you including the accusation that every cop on the FPD is a racist?

The namebands are provocation in a situation that doesn't need it. Neither are they part of the uniform, so should not be worn on duty.

Anyone who is provoked by those wristbands has problems that need to be addressed.

You should refrain from critiquing the intelligence of.....well anyone.

Nothing like stereotyping the entire crowd with negative stereotypes to show your impartiality and reasoned analysis of the evidence....
Can the bs. I didn't stereotype them, they did that to themselves.
And secondly, it is exactly what you have done here towards others. All because you do not know the known evidence.

You're clearly not interested in looking at the issue objectively.
:doh
:2rofll:
That would be you.

So the people in charge have approved officers taping over their name tags? I'd like to see the evidence for that?

If you can find it, it's more evidence the person in charge is an idiot and should be fired.
And there is that bias and lack of impartiality again.

First of all that is an allegation and not proven.
Secondly I never said it was authorized (even though it should be).
Thirdly, had it been done it is not an "overruling". So stop speaking about **** you do not know.

So again since you keep trying to avoid it.

Protocol is not law.
And it is especially wise of them not to wear name tags with the calls for vigilantism and the outing of their family and home locations. Their badge number is sufficient.
Do you really not understand the above?

Given the inflamed situation there it couldn't be anything else but calculated.

And more bs.
Supporting your fellow Officer, especially as it appears he was in the right, is not calculated anything.

When you say, "stereotype an entire crowd", are you including the accusation that every cop on the FPD is a racist?

Who made that accusation? If anyone has, I'll join you in calling them an idiot. I sure haven't made that allegation. It was Excon who personally insulted an entire community protesting with "Pants up, don't loot."

Valid concerns are one thing, invalid concerns are another.
You seem to think there is a valid concern in these protests when there isn't.

That is on you and your ability to discern.

Read the thread. There are plenty.

If it's the entire community looting and disturbing the peace, the entire community deserves to be insulted thusly.

You have a wonderful way of taking pretty clear language presented to you and then twisting it into a narrative you want to disparage. That's fine, but it's a dishonest way to conduct a discussion if that's what you wanted rather than a vehicle to rant.

Wrong.
You can not show that comment was directed at anybody but the protestors it applied to. You know, those who were protesting by looting.
You need articles and pictures to accompany the claim?

‘Pants Up, Don’t Loot’
Protests devolve into violence and mayhem in Ferguson.
By Ryan Lovelace

Ferguson, Mo. — “Hands up. Don’t shoot,” several protesters chanted on Sunday night.
One voice shouted in response, “Pants up. Don’t loot.”

The request went unnoticed.

So stop with the false assertions.

I think the Ferguson are excercising their 1st Amendment rights anf the DOJ needs to STFU.

Is it on the job with their uniforms?

Then I understand what the dept is saying and the dept has the right to tell them what not to display while working.

Anyone who is provoked by those wristbands has problems that need to be addressed.

Only the police department are wearing them. None of the outside agencies brought in to keep the peace are doing so. The department are also neglecting to wear or covering up their name bands. This indicates a mentality of impunity toward the community they are supposed to be serving.

Anyone who is provoked by those wristbands has problems that need to be addressed.

It has nothing to do with provocation. The chief of police is the point man for the men and the department.

What ever the reasoning for the request is not important. The request was made, the chief followed the request and so did the officers. End of story.

If it's the entire community looting and disturbing the peace, the entire community deserves to be insulted thusly.

And obviously the entire community wasn't looting. Much of that community condemned the looting.

There is no telling what you mean by "disturbing the peace" - it's generic enough to include peaceful protest of any kind anywhere, as well as violent protests. But Excon didn't say disturbing the peace, he said "Pants up, don't LOOT."

Prove it

The department are also neglecting to wear or covering up their name bands.
An allegation.

This indicates a mentality of impunity toward the community they are supposed to be serving.
No it doesn't.
It shows they want to protect themselves and family from untoward attention from the idiotic demonstrators who want to act out violently against them.

You need to stop telling untruths.

I clearly said that should be the response to the idiotic claim of hands up don't shoot.
The following was the exact exchange. So stop being untruthful.

And here is another one of those untruths you spewed.
You should really just stop.

Prove it

An allegation.

No it doesn't.
It shows they want to protect themselves and family from untoward attention from the idiotic demonstrators who want to act out violently against them.

The DoJ wrote a previous letter about the name badges (a uniform requirement to ensure accountability) Then they had to write again about the inflammatory "defiant" wristbands (essentially saying "**** you" to the public they serve!)
The department is out of control, or it would enforce uniform regulations without needing to be told from outside.

:doh
The DOJ is irrelevant as they do not dictate to the Policing agency.
They are neither out of control or saying "****you" to the people they are charged with to police.
That assertion is nothing but bs and comes from a convoluted mindset.
