Judge Hands Gavin Newsom Control of National Guard in Blow to Trump

Early intervention limits scale.
so 134 Million (so far) in one city. They do this in 10-20 "blue" cities and what is the cost then?

This is Trump and Miller being thugs nothing more.

Looks like Gavin Newsom's attempted fascist power-grab was thwarted by the court.

NO KINGS!
Newsom never attempted to grab power from anyone. He already had the power over his own state. It was Trump who grabbed power. A typical childish display of Trump's hatred of the governor.

That's not what the court ruled. He's using power he already has under 10 USC 12406.

They didn't need to because the show of force in the riots in LA was enough to pacify the other cities.

ICE will enforce the law, and if you don't like it you are free to protest, just not by assaulting ICE agents, impeding their job, blocking traffic, assaulting bystanders or destroying private and federal property.

It's pretty easy rules to follow. There are a lot of things I find troubling about the Federal Government use of power over the last [insert age] years, and I've never once assaulted anyone or set fire to anything as a result.

LOL

Well, no. They also attacked the Metropolitan Detention Center and I believe a Federal court building.

Why?
The Detention Center wasn't attacked, there were protests outside it though. Don't see anything about some alleged "Federal Court Building" being attacked either.

So one?

That's not really true, though, is it. It was certainly vandalized, and tensions were escalating quickly. It would have suffered worse but was one of the first places NG troops were deployed.

But what are you getting at, here? Are you suggesting that as long as it's just one Federal building attacked, we should simply ignore it?

From AI Overview:
The Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles was a focal point of protests and clashes with law enforcement in the recent days of June 2025, but it wasn't the target of a physical attack in the sense of a building being stormed or destroyed.

  • No indication of a physical attack on the facility itself: The available information focuses on the protests and confrontations outside the facility, not on the building being breached or attacked.

So nothing to really back up your claim then, eh?

OK.

So 1 federal building.
So you spent 5 seconds asking AI a question it answered wrong, and can't explicate whatever point it is you're trying to make?

OK.

Nope, I looked for articles about the Detention Center being attacked, there were no articles about it being attacked. You made the assertion, you have proof of your claim?

I have lots of proof the place was covered in graffiti. But am not going to waste any more of my time on someone who isn't willing to present an argument or spend more than five seconds asking AI to make one up for him.

...and if it were to want one, surely we can do better for a royal family then the Trumps. Though when I look out at the landscape of oligarchs, celebrities, and political elite I can't say that we do.
😜

the Monarchy is not going away, they will not accept this limit on their rule. the Dark Maga Oligarchy will overcome some day and must do so; they may have to arrange for some National Emergency, and prolly one is coming me thinks.

there is much work to do in acquiring more land, including the Acquisition of Canada, Mexico and Greenland.

blessings all, ........as Karen sings, 'we only just begun'.....

Oh, you are mad because I had to try to do your job to backup up your claim?

lol

So you have some acts of vandalism caught. OK. So that's maybe, what, 2 buildings?

No. At issue is the size of the respose. 1 building attacked doesn't really warrant federalizing the NG and deploying a couple thousand troops with the associates coats. There are federal police agencies and non military security forces that can deal with that.

Been over this in the other thread. Trump is breaking the law in unheard of amounts. It’s why he keeps getting his ass handed to him in court, by both Republican and Democrat appointed judges.
Check your talking points. One of the most reliably radical Left appeals courts in the country sided with our President. Who can blame them for sending a message to the violent Leftist street militias in San Francisco where the court is based.

Not accurate. It was just a 3 judge panel - not the entire couet and of them are Trump appointees. I'm not saying that had anything to do with the way they decided but to call them reliably radical left is not even close to true.

Look at the record of appeals brought before the 9th circuit. A three judge panel is typical for Federal appeals. The entire court may hear a case but this is the exception.

The Orange Man Bad lynch mob is boasting about judges appointed by Republicans rejecting Trump. Now you complain about Trump appointed judges?

Right, we need federal troops on the ground to prevent buildings from being attacked with vandalism.

Did I complain about the judges? No.

What I complained about - if that's what you want to call it I'd call it - was the characterization that the panel was "radical left" which given the 2 Trump appointees on the panel is false as is the implication that because it was a "radical left" panel that the case wasn't even a close call.

I was also at pains to say that I wasn't implying that the Trump appointees ruled as they did because they were Trump appointees.
