Judge dismisses conspiracy charges against DeLay

libertarian_knight said:
That's not really for aps to decide (not you and I for that matter), as I suspect none of us are in DeLay's District. So, it's for is district voters and the Republican Party leadership to decide.

If I had my way, Ron Paul would be getting the Rep leadership. He's a longtime Congressman from texas also. Good man.

What part of the word if do you not understand?

Sorry man I am straight, I like girls.......As they use to say on Seinfield not there is anything wrong with it........

I never said you did. Confused again eh? It's O.K. at least you tried and that's what counts. High Five!

See you said all dems believed him innocent, which means no dems would have voted to impeach him. See if 100% a group, let's call them "retarded puppies" (something you can related to, as they are cute and adorable too, and the puppies are not quite so bright. And no, I am NOT coming on to you, so DOWN BOY). So this 100% of "retarded puppies" all prefer Puppy Chow instead of Elepahnt Chow, why would they choose elephant chow when given the purpose of puppy chow?

More to the point, why did the dems that voted to impeach believe him innocent, and still vote to impeach?

Unless of course, there was something WRONG with what you said. Which, well, that could certainly be true.

Sorry in advance if I confused you again, with ... words.

I don't think the dems that voted for impeachment thought he was innocent.....

"IF" he is aquitted or convicted and serves time, it IS still up to the leadership of the rep party and the the voters of his district. REGRARDLESS of the outcome, it is up a some Texas, and the republican congresspersons to decide. Aquittal, Dismall, Conviction, whatever.

IF he is aquitted, then he should be allowed the OPPORTUNITY to be reinstated as House leader, just like anyone else in the house.

That is, unless you would subvert democracy, the Congress and the Consititution.

So, you said all dems thought him innocent, ANDyou don't think that the dems that though him innocent voted for impeachement (only the dems that thought him guilty voted for impeachement). So using those two statements OF YOURS, no dems voted for impeachement right?

And I see I did confuse you again, sorry.

Concentrate like an MRE and frozen OJ yo. Why would you need to repeat it? I got it, clearly by repeating it for you. here maybe this will help

so if all charges are dismissed it is up the his distirct and the repulican party to make the desicion. He will not be reinstated automatically as House Majority Leader, nor should he. He should be allowed to pursue it, just like any other congressmen.

Remember that bit from Saturday Night Live. Something caused me to recall it, can't figure out the connection though <pondering>

Damn, you got him all screwed up. :rofl

What was that about a laser beam?

The Bugman is having a little trouble in his newly redistricted district. It's not full of his same ol' cronies anymore.

If the congress votes him back as majority leader--yes.

That is the problem........This whole thing is a stalling tactic to go past the time he can be re instated...........

So you think there is a conspiracy between Ronnie Earle and the judge? I doubt it.

Trent Lott is going after his old job. DeLay will NEVER AGAIN rule the house.
It's all too much for DeLay to recover from. He has already been admonished by the house ethics committe three times, faces the current charges by Earl, is knee deep in the Abramoff scandal and the supreme court is ready to look at his redistricting of Texas.

Too bad - he's great PR for the Dem party and the house couldn't pass a fart at a chili festival with his replacement - Tobacco Blunt

Never say never my friend......I just hope the Republicans in the HOR hold that leadership position open until the charges against Delay are dropped........

Thats almost as good as the 9/11 conspiracy garbage.....maybe we can make it the new fad.

I'm not saying that the charges won't be dropped, but your confidence that they will be are funny to me.

If the charges aren't dropped, what will your assertion be next?

Did I not word that correctly? I was asking Navy Pride if he thought that Earle and the Judge were conspiring against DeLay so that DeLay wouldn't get his old job back.

Navy Pride said:

Why would the charges be dropped any more than they already have? See, when the judge dropped the conspiracy charge the other day, he could have dropped the other charges too. It doesn't seem like that is the case. He may be aquitted, but that's different from dropping charges.

Oh, and you do realize that charge wa dropped on a technicallity right? The Charge can be properly refilled as I Understand it.

Sorry (in advance) for confusing you.

DeLay has appealed the denial to drop the other charge. It's possible that the Court of Appeals could determine that the trial judge erred.
