So tomorrow, we celebrate the survival of the Plymouth colony with a national holiday.

I won't celebrate it. I sincerely KNOW in my heart that the world would be a better place if the pilgrims had all died out that first winter.

That would have set the founding of America back. And given what America has done, that would have been a very good thing.

If the pilgrims hadn't survived that winter, they wouldn't have been able to commit genocide against millions of Native Americans. If they had died out, slavery wouldn't have been able to find a foothold in the new world.

No America means no war of expansion against Mexico. No America means no nuking of innocent Japanese civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. No America means no oppression of democracy movements in Latin America fighting against right wing dictatorships. No America means that socialism would have had a fighting chance to spread and change the world order for the better.

Join me tomorrow in boycotting Thanksgiving. We are NOT thankful that the pilgrims survived!

All that No America changes is the events occurring in a different fashion by a different people. Or do you really think that would've changed the nature of people?

****ing worst troll ever.

I'm curious as to why you stay in a place that you hate so much. Without history having happened exactly as it did, I would not be here. I'm glad i'm here. I'm thankful that I was born in a place where I can be anything I want to be, as long as I'm willing to go for it. It must be sad to be in your head. Seriously.

Dude - no America means no arsenal of democracy to stop Hitler, much less Stalin.

Yes, we've got a LOT of red ink in our ledger - as do all major nations. It's naive to think otherwise. I don't celebrate Christmas (it's a religious thing) but I do celebrate Thanksgiving...because of all the things I am thankful for.

I already rent an apartment here in New York city, and have a stable job. I can't just uproot my life. Besides, NYC is relatively sane compared to the rest of America.

Also, many countries which I admire, such as Sweden, the UK, and Japan have long wait times to become naturalized citizens. Might as well use that time towards fighting to improve my own country.

there's always an excuse... always.

This kind of crap is why I have to fend off constant "oh, you're a liberal or a socialist, you must hate America" nonsense. You know in your heart that the world would be better off without this country? Good for you. I know in my brain, where actual knowledge is, that America has done some pretty great things for the world. More great than it does wrong. The wrong is intolerable, but if you can't appreciate what is good about this country, then you're not thinking critically, you're just complaining from a place of ignorance.

I very much doubt that you have it in you to improve this country in any way.

soon or later there would be a different country called 'America' whether they died or not.maybe it would be a worse one or better one.in fact we may start a what if thread about it:lol:

Hmm, no pilgrims means a change in the course of history which would mean no gggggggggreat granddaddy coming over in 1775 nor the ggggranddaddy's in the 1860's or in 1900. Which of course means, no me.

Yeah, I don't think so. Eat your God damn Turkey and be thankful that things turned out as they did. You might not have been born otherwise.

Don't you think it's odd that you admire countries that have a long waiting list to become a citizen? I bet you are the same kind of person that wants the US to put in a fast lane, but here you are admiring countries with slow lanes. Hell, the UK turns people away all the time. Their lane has a goddamn wall in the middle of it.

I donate to the Brady Foundation, and to PETA. What do you donate your Citizen's United Super-PAC money to?

And sure, the UK has some guilt as well. But at least they are repentant about it, instead of continuing to build a world empire like the US is doing.

And tell me what wrong Sweden or Japan did?

Additional hate and actual call for people to "die out." Classic liberal hatred on display for us all to see.

But there isn't systematic discrimination against people who don't speak English. I've been to London before, and the multiculturalism blows away even Chinatown or Washington Heights. And at least there is a hate speech law in England defending immigrants against blowhards such as Rush and Hannity.

Sorry I will celebrate Thanksgiving with a big dinner of turkey and all the trimmings with my family.

I was there at Zuccotti park. I spoke with my dollars in donations to Everytown for Gun Safety this election cycle. And I was out just yesterday in Times square letting the NYPD know that black lives matter.

What did you do?

Yes, a country that bans people from ever entering their country again because they violated hate speech laws is a great country and I want to spend a lot of time there. You might not know this, but while people here might have issues with Spanish speaking individuals many people in England have problems with Muslims. If I remember correctly there are many over there that think Muslims are trying to turn their country into a middle east ****hole.
