John Boehner allies fret coup attempt

Love a good cat fight!

And it used to be said the democrats in congress were as difficult to get on the same page as herding cats. Seems to be the repubs have that problem too.

Biden? Viable? I don't think so. As sitting VP, HE should be the frontrunner, but he is in single digits even among dems. Warren is the liberal response to Ted Cruz. So after Hillary, there is no one.

Huntsman! And yeah I know he's a republican.

Those numbers would change significantly if Hillary were out of the race, if and until that happens the preference numbers for the others mean little

Is it a sure thing yet she is going to run?

I doubt it. A Biden nomination would be a guaranteed victory for republicans.

Absolutely correct.

2016 is going to be very interesting.

2016 is likely also going to come down to voter turnout, especially the black and female turnout. Blacks wont be that motivated, but the dem party realizes this and will do everything they can to mobilize the black voter. Black churches will also, and will present to their congregations that a vote for the dem candidate is a validation of the Obama presidency.

I don't expect the black vote to be down as much as republicans are hoping for, and assuming that a female is on the dem ticket, I would expect that the dem ticket would pick up enough middle of the road women voters to make up for any loss of black voters.

Republicans best chance of winning is if they can pin a scandal on Obama or Hillary that actually sticks, or even better if our economy started to decline. At this point it appears that our economy is finally in full recovery mode, so I don't see the economy declining in the next year and a half, and if there were any legit dem scandals which would influence the dem or the swing voter, I suspect that republicans would have already discovered them.

It's about ****ing time!!!!

Get rid of the weak kneed doormat for the Dems.

Get rid of him, and relegate him to a back bencher position.

He's useless.

Is it next week already?

Its just the usual hyped threats to get him to toe the line the way the righties want it toed. They will NOT oust him.

It actually might be good thing. It will free up the middle of the road Republicans from trying to placate the far right, might see some more caucusing with the Democrats on important issues that need dealt with.

Biden is a good guy and probably one of the most likeable politicians out there. Hes gaff prone but seems like a genuinely good guy. That said, he has run before and outside of his immediate family, he got zero support. I don't think anyone sees him as president, dem or republican. Not that there are any giants on the republican side, but the idea that Hillary is a shoe in is crazy. She is very beatable

Don't forget too that the cons have been working on Democratic turnout with voter I.D. As for scandal, if GW Bush wasn't enough of scandal that a Republican is elected president, then we are headed of very deep water from which we may drown.

A Bush V Clinton race would be anything but interesting.

Yeah, I got you there. I'm not thrilled either. But I will not vote for a Republican as they stand today. But I can tell you that Hillary will be the best Republican in the entire field... she just won't be an extremist.

Hillary isn't an extremist. She has always struck me as left but fairly pragmatic. That said, elections usually go to the most likeable. She isn't particularly likeable so it will be a struggle for her unless Ghengis Khan is her opponent

Perhaps Americans, men and women will look at the two terms of Obama and vote for competence versus race or gender. A race of Bush v Clinton will be more proof to many Americans we do not have anything close to democracy here.

Yeah, I don't like anything about her. But it will be interesting to see how a woman functions in the job and how she's treated. What does excite me about her though is Elizabeth Warren. There's a talent that won;t go to waste: perhaps sec of the treasury...

Why is the presidents intransigence a sign of republicans not doing their job?

What exactly did the House accomplish before the election? It is, in fact, incumbent upon both Houses and the President to reach a compromise. Passing bills that have no chance in the Senate or with the President is just spopping wheelies - looks cool but it actually slows You down.

Editor's Correction to reflect the truth:

So there was some kind of mandate? Indeed. The average voter is fed up with this president and showed their disdain on election day.

Not voting is an action too.
Many Republicans stayed home in 2012... as a protest.

And this last landslide election was a protest as well.

A few freshmen conservatives have no power to kick out the speaker. They have been trying for a few years to get rid of him, and every single attempt has failed! I'm not so sure what the obsession over Boehner is. If he's gone a Conservative like you guys want is not going to take his place. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Try, try again when it comes to Boehner, because his leadership is one... a boner.

The problem with Boehner is he's weak, lame and pathetic. He's got all those bases covered. If I were a Demokrat I'd like him right where he is too.

Put Trey Gowdy in his place and we'd see someone who isn't going to be on his knees, but grabbing the opposition by the balls, squealing like a castrated hog, and having them play defense.

And who would you suggest would do a batter job of working with the president and moving compromise legislation from the House through the Senate and to the president's signature in order to actually get things done
Or are you satisfied with gridlock politics and nothing getting done?

It's time to reverse course... the voters made that clear.

If Obama doesn't want to sign bills into law, and instead act like a King... FINE!!! But make him veto one bill after another, and make sure the public knows wtf is going on. If done right it's a noose around the neck of the Socialist candidate for 2016.

Gridlock is a great thing when you're dealing with socialist legislation. When it comes to deconstructing the Leftist idiocy, it will take time... but to do it we need someone to fight.

Boehner is a wimp. Good riddance I say... the sooner the better.

Is he gone yet????

The fact that incoming 114th Congress didn't not un-seat Boner, proves they had no intention of taking their mandate seriously.

Sad to say, but I agree.

After they caved right after the election... I just about projectile vomited. Idiots.

Time will tell, and if it does do that... well... that's a negotiation tactic... for the better... though still not good enough.

I hope he gets pulled and benched.

ROTFLOL... not likely, as they will go they way of the ObamaKare Demokrats.

They would be targeted for removal, and they know it.

You don't win a landslide and implement the losers agenda, but... that's what Boner is doing.

Is it a sure thing yet she is going to run?

I don't think so, but it is a pretty good bet at this point unless some unknown crisis occurs in the coming months

If she doesn't run you will see big increases in the preference numbers for Biden and Warren

That depends on who the Republicans nominate - they have been known to am their pistols directly at their own feet.

The President doesn't have to sign any bill. It's not his job to rubberstamp Congress.
