Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta is making a temporary change to its hate speech policy to allow for calls for violence against Russian soldiers and Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to reporting from Reuters.
Users of the social media platforms in countries including Russia, Poland, and Ukraine will allow some posts calling from violence against Russian troops in the context of the invasion, as well as calls for violence against Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Without doing the research on this, I'm taking it at face value -- are you suggesting you support call for violence on social media for a scenario like Ukraine? Why would that be any different than other scenarios, such as riots we saw in 2020 and January 6 where individuals were being killed, property damage and other violent acts?

So Ukrainians who are being actually murdered and who say kill those Russians are practicing "hate speech"? That sounds kinda incorrect to me. You have to excuse the Ukrainians from too much censorship for voicing their anger at people who are actually occupying your land and who are bombing hospitals for example. Today a maternity ward was hit by Russian weapons, killing several women. Yesterday it was a children's hospital.

Let us go easy on the Ukrainians in their own of need rather than kicking them off what might be one of the only ways to find and connect to family and friends who are not able to flee or who have fled.
