It's too easy now to hide behind a key board and bash the president or congress or a particular party. Social media polarizes the country politically, it's so easy to have an extreme opinion and no one necessarily has to know who you are. You see these extremes on youtube comments, forums like this, and newspaper article comments. Not saying this is a bad thing, but it's a lot easier to express powerful opinions when your anonymous.
So I really think all politicians from this point on will generally have less support just because so many people can more easily write negative things about them, and once you start reading a lot of negative things about someone, you start to doubt the person.
