Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli jets flew over several areas of the country, following up the mock air raids it conducted on Wednesday.
“Israeli warplanes have been executing mock intensive air raids in Nabatieh, Iqlim al-Toufah, Marjayoun and Khiam airspace at a medium altitude since Friday morning,” the NNA said. In addition, southern towns of Tyre, Hasbaya and Bint Jbeil also experienced flyovers and dummy attacks.
Unifil has recorded dozens of Israeli jets violating Lebanese airspace over the last few year. Lebanon with its very poor air defenses (it uses AA guns manually operated for most has no success in hitting Israeli jetsDemon of light,
You linked to the The Daily star which is highly biased site, and the fact the source claims this with out any prof other than this man word is what is hypocritical.
. We would have heard about this on the news, if this were true which that means its not true.
lebanon appears to be an ideal candidate to sell 21st century anti-aircraft weaponry
it also needs to buy enough concrete to definitize the "blue" line boundary, so that any observer would be able to recognize when the israelis are violating the ceasefire agreement
moshe dyan must be smiling about the increasing provocations, to "justify" israel initiating another "pre-emptive" war
Lebanon should invest in fighter jets and anti-aircraft military hardware, that is effective .
I think it would be appropriate to supply Unifil with modern and effective weapons and the authority to eliminate anyone crossing the blue line either by foot, truck, tank, or airplane
Doesn't "air raid" means bombs were dropped? Never heard of that in our media.
That's why it's called 'mock' raids. It is probably referred to in your media as military exercises or maneuvers. Violating another nation's sovereignty while conducting an exercise is not wise.
That isn't necessary. Lebanon has a history of being controlled, at least partially, by a terrorist group (Hezballah) and therefore should not be armed.
Or crossing the blue line via rocket launcher.I think it would be appropriate to supply Unifil with modern and effective weapons and the authority to eliminate anyone crossing the blue line either by foot, truck, tank, or airplane
RyrineaHaruno; Demon Of Light . We would have heard about this on the news said:The ultimate IRONY....It isn't true until they say it on TV...LOL
The same is true of Israel, which has been controlled by terrorists from Irgun, and Likud for decades. They should not be armed either. As long as Israel continues to be a hostile power and completely ignores international law, it's neighbors have no choice but to defend themselves.

we can also add to that mandate to use that heavy weaponry to actually enforce 1701 and go tgake away all the illegalweapons Syria has provided Hezbollah under their nose?
The core of 1701 was violatged by Hezbollah rearming, completely justifying any fly overs (actually justifying another full-out wargiven the termsof the ceasefire, but whatever...)

What hypocrisy? Don't you know Israel is incapable of hypocrisy?
How many UN resolutions has Israel ignored?Has Lebanon implemented the Taif Accords, and UNSC Res. 1559, 1680, and 1701 that call for the "disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon" leaving Lebanon's armed forces as the only armed force within Lebanon?
No.
Hence, it is not surprising that Israel is flying missions over Lebanon to deter potential threats. Now, if Lebanon were to reach full compliance with the above-noted documents, then one could reasonably criticize Israel for having conducted the overflights. However, to date, that has not happened.
How many UN resolutions has Israel ignored?
Is there a point. I think what was trying to be explained is if Hezbollah is going to have 40k missles, Israel is obliged to know where they are.
We may want to remember that the U.S. was willing to start a world war rather than have a few missles 90 miles away.
That's BS. Israel is not run by terrorists or the known religion of terrorists. Israel is armed because it is surrounded by the brainwashed hordes of the supposed religion of peace.
How many UN resolutions has Israel ignored?
Why do you think Hezbollah woulld want 40 k missiles?
Perhaps 20 years of occupation of Southern Lebanon, where most Shia Lebanese lived. Shia Lebanese are the ones who make up Hezbollah. As the Lebanese military is grossly incompetent if I was living in Southern Lebanon I would not trust them to defend me or Lebanon from Israeli agression
