Is Trump Going To Jail?

Is Trump Going to Jail

Trump has done some very objectional things - no disputing that.

But has he broken the law?

Technically - No.

Fortunately for Trump, his opponent HAS broken the law, and informed voters know it. Many will give Biden a pass, for his racism, dementia and incompetence, but ultimately Trump will prevail. . . . Even if Trump is behind bars.
lol technically he is on audio recording violating the espionage act.

Right wingers lie about everything.

LOL over 80 felony indictments so far and you say Trump has not broken any laws? You are hilarious.

Four criminal indictments, right? Three Federal and one now in State court? How many Grand Jury jurists does that represent? What is it, about 23 to 24 GJ members voting to Indict in four separate cases? Just under 100 people have already voted to indict Trump based upon there being enough evidence to send him to trial.

Sure he will blessedly get his day in court, as is just, but our Nation and our Justice Systems will also be in court.

My first reactions were that there is no way. Security alone wold make this strange, in addition to the precedent.
But with the GA charges, it certainly looks more likely than before.
Trump is facing so many charges,
Most of the charges are "wash, rinse, repeat" charges. If found not guilty on one of them it difficult to imagine why a jury would find him guilty of any of the others tied to each other. The RICO charges are an example of the grasping for straws approach to conviction. They basically attack freedom of speech.
it's a maybe from me.

I would have no trouble paying some extra in taxes in GA if it mean special prison accommodations for Trump for security reasons.

No. He'll be convicted in at least one but will get house arrest at worst.
How do you see that working out? Which “house.” And what about his servants, valet and such?

Voted maybe, I am still very skeptical of all this ending in a jail sentence even though I believe the man belongs in jail.

He thinks winning another Presidential election will absolve him of all trials. I'm not sure it works that way.

Another point… if he wins, you think he’s giving up power quietly to go serve a lengthy prison sentence? No way in hell he just leaves the WH to go to prison

I said no because of course if a jury finds him not guilty he won't go to jail. And if a jury does find him guilty I think his wealth and status will keep him from prison. I'm sure there will be some arrangement made to limit the embarrassment he would suffer because we're a society that generally doesn't believe in harsh punishment for the wealthy, elite, or famous. Unless you've done something really really bad.

The RICO charge in Georgia has a minimum five years I think.

24x7x365 home confinement, no Internet, no phone, no tweeting, no conducting any business of any sort, visitation consistent with what other jailed felons have. Full time SS and maybe an ankle monitor if we worry that the SS might let him out.

Which house? Don’t care. Servants? Again don’t care though see visitation comments.

Wherever it is will be a Mecca. If you’re gonna go through all that, may as well lock him up.

I thought prisons don't work. I guess the government is going to have to spend a lot of money to rehabilitate him with expensive social services.

We already do what I outlined in my response to you. Not sure how often but it is an actual thing.

I hope so

What I read from International papers is no, they think he won't go to jail and not just because of the security problems. Apparently his lawyers are trying to convert the state trails into federal cases so that if he loses the case but wins the Presidency, he can pardon himself.

He thinks winning another Presidential election will absolve him of all trials.

It won't absolve him but he is highly unlikely to go to jail.

the final step in declaring we are a nation of laws, not men will be enforcing the sentence.

The outside world watched in disbelief when Trump repeatedly tried to overturn the democratic election result and we were agog when he egged on the January 6th insurrection and got away with it.

Trump is, in many ways a watermark in US history.I don't think it's a good watermark but that's just my opinion.
