Is This The End? Trump Suborned Perjury With Michael Cohen's Testimony to Congress

Fake news doesn't have to present as knowingly fabricating a complete story. IT also take the form of doing such a poor job with vetting your information that you're basically publishing unverified gossip as if it's factual. Then you do it again, and again, and again...they don't get to absolve themselves from the responsibility by using "unnamed sources".
There's a huge difference between journalists publishing a story without having all their ducks in a row (which is a real problem in MSM), and journalists publishing stories they know are false, like InfoWars.

For the public who rely on journalists to inform them, not much difference. Sounds like this Buzzfeed article was much further from the mark than "without having all their ducks in a row".

Any true news outlet that cared about their integrity would fire whomever was responsible, including the editor who cleared this article.

I'm sure the InfoWars people believe a lot of their Jade Helm type conspiracies. Again, once you do such a poor job on a story, that's entirely false (e.g. Trump removed MLK bust), there is absolutely not a huge difference.

I'd say whenever Mueller raps things up, they should reveal who their sources were if the story isn't in the final report.

Makes sense. However they may have made promises to the sources.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,”

The above is the carefully worded non-denial denial. I am not contesting your post. However I would caution readers who think your post lurches to the Buzzfeed story is false according to Mueller. That is not what the Mueller spokesman said.
If course not. Mueller is just as intent on impeaching Trump, the non-democrat, non-leftist as all the rest if the political elite and bureaucracy.

Exactly. The response from Special Counsel's office doesn't say that the heart of the Buzzfeed article is false. It is very specific about what it finds to be inaccurate.

It ends up sounding more like a nitpicky confirmation.

Every day, Trump looks more and more screwed.

Right.

BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller’s office, said.

IOW : "ARE BULL****".

Keep dancing around it...it's funny to watch...

I think it's hilariously ironic that you suddenly trust Mueller and his team.

The idea that Trump wouldn't direct somebody to lie to Congress, wasn't that far fetched of a bombshell to begin with, considering he's crossed every single imaginable line since coming to office, and has the most extensive track records for lying in political history.

How many of these unsourced 'bombshells' have we had over the last 2 1/2 years? Every time it happens you guys buy into it completely and tar anyone who disputes it as Putin lover.. It happen over and over and over again. It would be nice if you guys would show at least some skepticism once in a while.

No, thats actually pretty darn clear. MUellers team never comments on anything. For them to speak out on this has to tell you its a total piece of crap.

Here’s the thing, yes it is really bad for Trump IF they can prove Cohen’s claims to be true. Remember this is Cohen who has already lied many times and Mueller is not going to go by Cohens comments alone. Now if Cohen has tapes of it that is another story but I’m thinking not. Right now this is Cohens word against trump and as much as I dispise Trump, Cohens word right now is **** without any evidence.

Trump does indeed lie but to convict someone of this type of thing they are going to need more evidence than just Cohens comments.

We actually agree on something.....miracles do happen. You are spot on here.

Yea it is pretty darned clear. I don't find the word "false" anywhere in that statement. II don't even find "erroneous" in there.

In fact, now confronted by them, you are parsing the wording of your own post.

I tend to think some of it is a piece of crap, at least. I also think that if the allegations of Buzzfeed were completely true, the Mueller investigation would have a whole lot of 'splaining' to do if they didn't vigorously follow up on the Buzzfeed truth and why that 'truth' wasn't one of the, at least, perjury charges levelled against Cohen by Mueller.

The Mueller investigation may be setting the record straight. May be showing they are impartial (yeah, right). The Mueller investigation isn't impartial.
But they are also, for sure, covering their own ass.

Um...it was? The perjury charge was for the lie about the timing for Trump Tower Moscow. That is what the buzzfeed article is about, the lie Cohen told about Trump Tower Moscow.

They have multiple witnesses and emails, texts, documents.

Which the writers (some allege are reporters) of the story (some allege is news) have never seen. Of course, "they" are two unnamed people connected with "an investigation". The idea that Cohen himself would forget to say that he lied under direct orders from Trump is the most unbelievable part of this story.

Uh no. There wasn't a Mueller charge (to Cohen) of Trump telling Cohen to lie about it EDIT: and Cohen lying about it.

You can see the missed opportunity of the Mueller investigation if those charges were true and Mueller didn't follow up with Trump?

This isn't rocket science.

What Mueller did, yesterday, to clarify Buzzfeed's allegation was to cover Mueller's ass.

How would that work? Please explain.

If you tell me to lie, and I lie, I get charged with lying. I would not get any other charges. Any additional charges related to the lie would be directed towards you.

I think Mueller is trying to lower expectations for his report. The point of all this, started by democrat opposition research, was to damage Trump over time with stories here and there. Whether they were true or not didn't matter - just as long as a few thousand voters turned off on Trump for each golden shower or "Cohen did that" story.

It's coming to brass tacks now, and the press is actually expecting solid evidence that Trump conspired with Russia to convince Americans that voting for socialist/communist/globalist candidate Hillary was not in their best interest. There is no such evidence.

The Mueller investigation didn't claim the Cohen lie was prompted by Trump. You guys want to get Trump, don't you? Duh? Buzzfeed, if true, would've sent shockwaves throughout the Trump presidency.

Buzzfeed wasn't 100% accurate. Who knows which part is accurate (or not). I tend to believe Mueller will say something about this in their report...now...to continue to cover their own ass. Mueller doesn't think it was prosecutable against Trump and, if were completely true, would be prosecutable against Trump.

BTW, you guys ever read the story of the boy who cried wolf?
