I say we give black people two votes

my mind/opinion has no bearing on state's regulations... for the second time, I have no answers to your questions
I'm literally asking you to explain what you yourself meant when you said "The E.C. gives equal representation to each state." What do you mean by equal representation?

You seem to support the electoral college, though it sounds like you are admitting you have never actually thought about why. So think. Why shouldn't individuals have equal representation? Why not just have individuals elect a president? Why should the Republican votes in California count for Democrats? Why should Democratic votes in Texas count for Republicans? Shouldn't those voters' choices count just as much as swing voters in Wisconsin? No knowledge of state regulations is required to answer these questions. Just independent thought on your part.

I am a Republican and would not want that. This is a unique country. The states have separate powers as we have seen with the governors flipping the president the bird. That's why it is called the United STATES

A popular vote to elect a president doesn't eliminate state authority. Weird red herring to bring up.

Yes, if you actually give up your wealth if any and have your skin darkened, just as people can move to a low population state to get that benefit. Of course, your inability to read the OP is another issue.

Black people don't have wealth? Are all black people dark skinned? Sounds a bit racist to me; Regardless, with all the identity politics in play, why does it matter how wealthy I may be or how dark my skin is? Identifying as black makes me black.

No, Rachel, it doesn't. Black people have far less wealth because of past discrimination, and much darker skin. You pay the price if you want the second vote.

Liberals would be fine with the United States always electing a Republican president because California is the most populated state?

How is this confusing? Most Americans would be fine with the person who gets the most votes being the winner.

Reparations for slavery when they can't even find Africa on a map? Seriously?

I agree with you that reparations are absolutely uncalled for and undeserved.

But the powers-that-be have decided to award them, so there is nothing that ordinary Americans can do.

The powers-that-be are already making Americans kneel, stand up for a certain "anthem," wear BLM pins because of peer pressure, etc.

FATE only knows what other doozies President Biden has in store for us when the honorable gentleman takes over the government shortly.

It eliminates a states power.

Look, I know you all wanna be like Europe and just have a king or queen running all 50 states. That isn't the way America was set up. You can just move to Europe, I think they still take refugees

Please read up on history and why we are called the United STATES! Basically, however, it was to get AWAY from a big powerful central government telling states what to do and what not to do. Those original brave men fled that sort of tyranny and set up what we have now.....STATES. They and conservatives don't WANT central government controls. Just because California today is huge and liberal (because of condoning illegal alien invasions) doesn't mean that it should control the rest of the 49 states by voting heavily Democrat.

IF it was Republican, not a ONE liberal would want a popular vote. This is why the founders were genius.

For those who don't like this set up, there is room in Europe, Russia, South Korea, China, etc.

Not really. But there's a much better case for doing THAT than the electoral system to give an arbitrary group of people inflated votes, who happen to live in less populated states.

It's nothing but cheating put into the law. If you reacted with hostility to the two votes for black people idea, then you should react with even more hostility to the electoral system corruption. The Senate is one thing, where 500,000 Wyomingans get the same say as 40,000,000 Californians, which is like 80 votes per Wyoming voter, but their getting a big 'bonus' vote for president is just wrong.

Many Latin Americans would be against your repeal of the 14th Amendment.

All humans can do is to vote for those who do not do this. But we won't. We will keep electing the Garcetties and DeBlasios because they are "compassionate" and care about minorities by throwing money at them and never getting to the root of their problems which is cultural and the acceptance of one parent families. No one in the media can or will say this or they would be shouted down as racists.

Yes, Mr. de Blasio is a ghastly character. (He actually had the crazy idea that people would want him for President!)

But the people who voted for him twice are the real culprits.

And, of course, most "journalists" are of his ilk, so they think that everything is hunky dory in the Big Apple.

DeBlasio has to be the worst POS in the entire world. His pandering to blacks is a sight to behold, using tax dollars to paint BLM on streets, trying to curry favor with his constituents. They have another year of this idiot as he is termed out but he is so self important that he probably thinks they will elect him governor.

OMG! I didn't think about that. I bet they DO elect him governor.

Can you imagine a country being run by de facto President Harris, a Governor de Blasio, & the kneeling Ms. Nancy?

Wow! You sure know how to depress a guy!

The saddest thing is that MANY of these posters would just LOVE that. We have outright socialists here, admitted communists, progressives (really socialist) and liberals who would like nothing better than to live in a nanny country. They would love there to be a mommy Kamala and a stern daddy DeBlasio telling them that they must turn over a third of their salary for black reparations and New York no longer needs any police.......all the while buildings are burning Like the great movie Airplane where cars and buildings are on fire, people running amok and the officer telling people "There is nothing to see here. Run along now" and you see to the side homeless encampments and people shooting up drugs, engaging in prostitution in the state provided toilets, someone shooting and killing cops while they sit in their police cars. DeBlasio would go on TV later and boast how he has "reduced" crime but not say that the laws were changed to make theft a misdemeanor, rape just public exposing and a citation, and murder a civil offense.

PS. While the post is hyperbole, in Los Angeles, they substantially reduced crime by making theft under $950.00 a misdemeanor. The result? Gang bangers just walk out of liquor stores and even department stores with under $950.00 worth of stuff knowing the police won't come out. Cars are broken into and when the police are called, the first question is what the value of the stolen property is and if you say it was a thousand dollars, you will be told that you have to give the value of things of what it would sell for so that laptop really isn't worth a thousand but only $750.00 and they will make a note of the incident and if anything turns up, they will call you. The city leaders now tout a reduction of crimes in Los Angeles under their stellar leadership.

I wasn't that big a fan of 'black history month', but you just made clear the need for it. That there is such a high level of ignorance.

If you were using the phrase 'honorable gentleman' sarcastically about Biden, you can get an irony of the day award at not using it about the incumbent instead.

You probably think the corrupt ghoul Giuliani was a better mayor than the very good mayor de Blasio. de Blasio would make a better president than most of the Democrats who ran and any of the Republicans.

What makes de Blasio a "very good mayor?"

What makes de Blasio a "very good mayor?"

Progressive policies, caring about the people, we could go through a long list of his policies compared to previous mayors. He has the right priorities. The fact the police union was his enemy says something good about him also. I'm for good police, as he is, but not corrupt police.

1. I just received a reply from a member who praised His Honor Mayor de Blasio to the skies, saying that he was better than most other Dem leaders and better than any Republican leader. I, of course, did not reply. I just clicked the "like" button because that button also means "Thank you."

2. I have lived in Los Angeles since the 1940s. I know all the tricks they pull in city government. For example, many students of ethnicities X and Y were being suspended for defiance. ("Hey, Teach, I'm gonna use my cellphone in class whether you go like it or not. Understand?" "No, I won't sit in that seat. I, not the teacher, decide where I choose to sit.") Well, President Obama's administration told schools if you want federal aid, NO MORE suspensions for defiance. It was obvious, the administration said, that ethnicities X and Y were being picked on.

a. A few months later, the Los Angeles schools proudly announced: "Almost no student is being suspended for defiance. See what a good job we are doing in teaching good manners to our students?" And, of course, the naive public fell for that fib.

I shudder to think what the Biden-Harris administration has in store for us. Hopefully, FATE will step in & save us.

Thanks. I wouldn't use the phrase 'to the skies', but definitely praise.

Hi,

I am a computer-illiterate old man who can barely type this comment. Linking is beyond my abilities, and forget about uploading a photograph!

You can easily google that information.

Suspension was to be replaced by "restorative justice." That is, the teacher & the student would meet in a room later on (with a facilitator?) and both would explain their side of the dispute. Both sides would pour out their hearts.

Student: I apologize. My Mom & I had an argument this morning. So I was on edge.
Teacher: Oh, I am so sorry. Well, in the future, will you sit where I ask you to?"
Student: I can't promise anything.
Facilitator: Is there a possibility that you might sit where the teacher wants you to?
Student: Yeah, but I am not promising anything. I have rights, you know!
Facilitator to teacher: Are you good with that?
Teacher: I guess that I have to be.
Facilitator: OK, you guys. Shake hands now. I mean bump elbows.

Ask any teacher in a big city school, even elementary school, but especially in middle and high school. Discipline is non-existent. The administrators are terrified of being accused of "racism," so they do not have the back of their teachers. Yeah, cops are quitting, but so are more and more teachers.

So you approve de Blasio's progressive policies to release criminals from jail and reducing the need for bail for certain criminal offenses? Policies which have let criminals out on the street to become habitual offenders, including death? You agree with de Blasio using city streets for political messaging, costing tax payers zillions of dollars to maintain it and leverage law enforcement (ironic) to protect it? You support de Blasio's decision to defund police and remove plain-clothed officers which has translated into an elevated level of criminal activity?

Sounds like good progressive policies to me

If you can't provide links or evidence for your claims, you should b a bit extra careful in the claims you make being accurate. It's pretty clear the dialogue above, you just made up to create false support for your claims.

I googled, and found almost only right-wing sources. Almost the only more neutral source, PBS Newshour, is linked below, with a story quite a bit different than the one you tell - and I support Obama's policies in that story.

As for how to post a link, you should learn, it's easy. Highlight a link, right click on it and click 'copy'. Then in your post, right-click where you want it and click 'paste'.

Yes, I support all his policies listed, and don't care to waste time responding to your straw men, even with counter straw men as you deserve. Do you support jailing every person of color in New York city for no crime? If not, you support letting them out of jail, which will increase crime, so you support the crime!

Let me get this straight .. I distorted your position on de Blasio's policies by highlighting some of his policies? :lamo Regardless, I support imprisoning any individual (regardless of race) who commits a crime. Criminals should rot in jail for the duration proportionate to the crime they committed.
