The leftists have politicized this issue and DOGE. Hopefully the majority of those who lose their jobs are leftists like the OP who place partisan politics over doing a good job and carrying out instructions from management.

The fact that you want people to lose a job shows your partisan yourself assuming its only leftists who get hurt by this. I only want the people to lose their jobs who refuse to follow directives from their bosses in a political display that has no place at work. The fact that they will very likely be leftists is a bonus.

I am partisan. So are you. Would you answer an email from your boss asking you to explain what you did last week? I would. Political affiliation has nothing to do with it.

- The firings are not based on any workload or program review.
- Some of the conclusions are misinformation. example. the use of some of the SS data searches and conclusions presented

Why do so many people apparently find it "demeaning" to report on what they did? Pretty much every desk job I've ever had I've had to report on every minute I was at work. 30 minutes doing this, 1.5 hours doing that, etc... I've only ever worked in the private sector.

Depending on the job how do you come up with 5 things
Take air traffic control, what should a controller say? I kept planes from crashing 5 times in a row?
The format is absurd as it assumes 5 tasks can be accomplished in a week some tasks take a long time. The mechanic who services the engines on air force one do you think he does 5 engines in a week
it is also absurd because due to the number of govt workers there is little to no chance of all these emails actually being read and verified. Ie somone can make up 5 any 5 things but since there is no real way to verify this what is the use?

I've never worked in government but I've worked closely with all 3 levels of government in Canada, the US and China.

It mystifies me why government employees are regarded as less dedicated, hard working and effective as the private sector.

Government employees are just like the rest of us. They didn't suddenly all become sloths just because they work for a government department.

The blanket demonization of federal employees is insanity yet not the least bit surprising.

What's the size of DHS? Look it up yourself. 260,000 government employees. Now the third largest cabinet position, it was the product of Bush the Lesser, and his Republican congress. Did anybody vote against this new cabinet position and massive government expansion? Yeah - all Democrats.

This week I had to respond to an email from Pete Hegseth, our Secretary of Defense. The email requested that I provide 5 bullet points about what I accomplished in my DOD civilian job last week.

I found this completely demeaning to everyone who is serving our country. I served this nation for over 20 years in the US Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant and I now work for the Department of Defense. Meanwhile, our Secretary of Defense never commanded a unit greater than a Company, but is serving as Trump and Musk's lap dog.

I realize that this is nothing but political theater, since many Trump supporters literally hate government workers, but the vast majority of government workers work hard and serve this nation, but also need their job to provide for themselves and their families. Pay for government workers is less than 3% of the budget. I really worry about these people, who are affected by this garbage.

Fortunately I don't need the job. I tried the retirement thing, but got bored and went back to work. So, in case anyone reads them, which I doubt, my 5 bullet comments were:
