I do not think DP is under attack by hundreds of paid Russian trolls, or even dozens, or even A DOZEN.
But, that said, do I think there are a handful? Yes, most definitely, and they are committed to this place, they have found a temporary home here, and I daresay that their experience here is of benefit and value to outfits like

The Internet Research Agency (IRA - the infamous Russian troll factory) on 55 Savushkina Ulitsa in St. Petersburg, Russia has changed its name to Glavset. It has the same business manager as the defunct IRA, and he is the former regional police chief in St. Petersburg. The owner of IRA/Glavset is Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Putin crony. He spent nine years in prison in the 1980s for fraud and robbery. After prison, Prigozhin went into the catering business and was chosen to cater special/state events at the Kremlin and amassed a small fortune. In 2010, Prigozhin's companies won a contract for the supply of food for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in 2011 - to supply food to Moscow schools, in 2012 - military supplies, in 2014 - cleaning of military institutions, in 2015 - maintenance of housing and communal services for military towns and new construction for the Ministry of Defense, and in 2016 - repair of the Ministry of Defense facilities. He owns many buildings on Savushkina Ulitsa in St. Petersburg's Olgina neighborhood. IRA/Glavset advertises for Russian English speakers at hh.ru. Today there are about 1,000 employees that troll in shifts. They have a daily quota and the best are paid the equivalent of $960 a month which is a fairly decent salary in Russia. Prigozhin was sanctioned by the US Treasury Department in December of 2016 for providing financial support for Russia's military occupation of Ukraine. Two of his companies, including his catering business, were also sanctioned by Treasury in 2017.
