The House Oversight Committee is launching an investigation into Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass as the protests over federal immigration policies continue in California.

HOC Chairman James Comer and LA Rep. Clay Higgins are leading the investigation, which is requesting Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to provide documents on "acts of violence against law enforcement officers in California."

"You champion California's sanctuary policies, which prevent local law enforcement's cooperation with federal immigration authorities. You have also made it clear that you intend to block the objectives of the federal government, and defend aliens, regardless of their immigration status, criminal activity, anti-American views, or incitement to riot.” said the HOC's letter to Newsom and Bass.

The House Oversight Committee's investigation is the first at the congressional level into the riots, as ICE officers have been sweeping the streets in an effort to remove illegal immigrants.

I LOVE IT.
Let's waste time doing more and more investigations instead of governing.
Benghazi anyone? Hunter's laptop? Stolen 2020 elections?
And let's not forget to investigate Joe Biden too.
Midterms coming, I am sure the voters will be impressed by all the investigations going on.

Why do you care about how my country "wastes" our money?

I hope they investigate why it took so long for LAPD to respond to ICE when they asked for help to deal with the summer of love-part #2 mostly peaceful protestors.

New ballroom. Dictatorial parade.

Let's talk about how OUR ****ing country wastes it's money.

Your verbiage is very insulting check your self.

And I don't care about the fact that you were addressing a Canadian. I vehemently disagree with your position and it's MY country too.

The House has no authority over a governor and mayor

I wasn't talking to you but good for you for piping in.
Go ahead, don't let me stop you from telling me who in the federal government and the state of CA. is wasting my money. Never heard of DOGE, have ya?

Maybe they can pay for the expenses using the Trump coin and save money flying witnesses in on that 400 million dollar jet Trump got from the UAE. Hell, I'm sure some of the people that gave Trump millions for pardons would even be willing to offset the cost. Maybe they can even get the pardoned Jan sixers that aren't in jail for other things, like sexually assaulting a minor or child porn to run security over the hearings.

I'm glad they are on top of investigating bad behavior.

Stupid question.

There are no stupid questions. I encourage you to realize there are no stupid questions even if they seem basic or obvious, those questions are a valid and important part of learning or understanding something. It encourages curiosity and open inquiry without fear of judgment. :)
