Oh good god when did conservatives become such whiny victims? Kids act like assholes, it must be the liberals fault and my feelings are hurt...
Would you include topics like creationism in "academic freedom"? If kids are being hassled in college for their beliefs, perhaps they are wrong. It could happen....
I will never forget the day it was announced in my high school that President Kennedy was killed. One young man said, "great, another nigger lover dead".
He was threatened on the spot, and was smart enough to keep his mouth shut. This was in East Texas, btw....
Not all kids act like ***holes, and I would even go further and say that it isn't all liberal students that are projecting this. But it only takes a small number to be constantly grabbing attention, and you have perception. So tell me, are you willing to just turn a blind eye? Or, should we hold institutions like Colleges accountable for their blatant lie of being an "open forum, and open exchange of ideas" when we know this to be false?

Ok, but it skirts my concern. I understand you are essentially saying that the free market will take care of this in the long run, and yes you are probably right in that, however in the mean time, kids are being deprived of a good education, and my tax dollars, and tuition costs are being misappropriated for dishonest ends.

Sorry, that evil men that are evil because they just are and hate us because we are free as they plot to kill us everyday is absurd. Theres nothing intellectual about it and it received the natural and human reaction of absurd dismissal.

Why would you be so scared of the openness? Is it only the liberal ideas that deserve debate? How very "Moderate" of you.

I have a relative on staff there, I'll ask tonight.
Better yet.
RealClearPolitics - Video - Purple Heart Recipient Heckled At Columbia University During Debate
here is the audio. Completely disrespectful and ignorant. He brought up some very good points. One of the signs he was responding to, was that the poor are the ones who serve (btw, not true, they are underrepresented), which he pointed out for expensive columbia, they are discriminating against the poor.
The dood out classed these jokers, and they knew it.
This is a fabulous argument to reinstate the draft.
Why are they angry?

Keeping creationism out of a science course is not a "liberal idea."
Liberals don't have a problem with creationism in a religion or philosophy course.
because their retarded arsed, limp wristed, pacifistic professors told them they should be.
Because they're Liberal pieces of ****. This is why I don't like Liberals, in general. Libbos can say what they want about Conservatives, but you won't see Conservatives pulling this kind of crap.
So, are the other students meant to agree with him and his political statements in deference to his, albeit distinguished, military service? His statement,
...is not uncontroversial. He was hissed and jeered for expressing a particular position. This is hardly news-worthy. I'm guessing that there isn't a single controversial debate that doesn't provoke jeering and hissing. Are you guys arguing that his position should have been approved because of his record? I thought that freedom of expression was one of the things he had made those sacrifices to defend. You can't defend freedom of expression and then expect others not to exercise their freedom.
"You lie", anyone?
"You lie", anyone?
Agree with him? No, because we live in a free country. Show him just a little ****ing respect? Most certainly.
I would love to know exactly what contribution to society those cat calling ********ers have made. I'm willing to be it's, zilch.
"The Cambridge Police actedly...stupidly!", anyone? It's in their blood.
As someone who went to these things at Columbia often, I'll inform you we had a very vocal republican club that did the exact same thing to liberal speakers. Bollinger and even Rupp made points of inviting controversial speakers and neither ever let protestors voice their opinions. Ahmadinejad anyone?
As someone who knows quite a few of those "********ers", I'm willing to bet they've contributed more than you have.
So, you're going with an attack rather than admitting your blatant falsehood? Gotcha.
What falsehood? Last time I checked, this thread is about Columbia University, not Congress. Did I miss something? If you want to expand things to all Liberal dumb ****s, then we can do that, too. I'm thinking you prolly don't wanna go there.
