Here is the Evil" charlie kirk talking to a young trans

I don't think it's "evil" to be skeptical of transgender medical treatments. The key thing is to respect the people, which he seems to be doing the way he says this. To be clear, I think people should have the right to violate sexist fashion stereotypes. Dress, act, look, think, how you want. Maybe even take some hormones, grow boobs if that's your thing; it's not too extreme. But it's wrong to tell a kid that you can "change their sex" in a very effective way when what you have is a very crude treatment. I mean, either they skip the bottom surgery - which is prudent, but will not impress a future spouse - or else they do something where they literally throw away the corpora cavernosa instead of converting them into vestibular bulbs. And I mean, that's so crude, medieval, slovenly of a way to do it, that I don't feel like they really know what they're doing. There are all these people going through so much pain - it's not wrong to see if you can do something else. Particularly if you're also willing to step aside and accept if the person doesn't listen to you.

And here are Kirk's comments/actions against LGBTQ rights, when not in front of a trans person. Are you really quoting Meghan Kelly, who spends her time criticizing Madonna's age and the Jeff Bezos wedding? She is a hack. You might as well be watching The Real Housewives. Yes, he was real good at faking empathy when he was in front of an audience. Don't try to paint him as some kind of healer of humanity. You really do need to do some research before you start a completely clueless OP.

Kirk, aged 31, built his reputation as a staunch supporter of right-wing ideologies, often courting controversy with inflammatory remarks. His views on LGBTQ issues were among the most divisive. He frequently described progressive stances on gender and sexuality as “sexual anarchy” and condemned LGBTQ-inclusive education, arguing that it eroded cultural identity.

In multiple broadcasts and public appearances, Kirk used anti-transgender slurs and celebrated being able to do so on platforms like Rumble. He labelled transgender individuals as “groomers” and advocated for banning gender-affirming care, even suggesting that providers should face “Nuremberg-style trials”.

His rhetoric aligned with broader efforts in right-wing media to roll back LGBTQ+ protections, including celebrating Supreme Court rulings that allowed businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ customers on religious grounds.

Kirk’s comments extended to dangerous misinformation. Just moments before his fatal shooting, he responded to a question about trans mass shooters by saying “Too many,” despite data showing the vast majority of such incidents are committed by cisgender men.

His influence was not limited to media. Kirk played a key role in shaping conservative youth discourse through Turning Point USA, a platform that has been criticised for hosting events and promoting narratives hostile to LGBTQ+ communities. Despite this, he was invited as the first guest on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast earlier this year, a move that drew backlash given Kirk’s history of incendiary remarks.

He changed how incendiary he would be based on his audience. He was cordial in these college debates. Disingenuous, sure, but cordial.

It was his podcast and Youtube videos where you'd get the smug smirking along with the stuff you're talking about. Of course Meagan Kelly shows that one, she want to rehabilitate his image and turn him into just a nice moderate guy. They were probably friends.

Kind of interesting how they don't show clips of his other stuff. Their whole schtick is that there's nothing wrong with what he said, but they are selectively showing his more mild transaction with a trans person.

You cited the magazine article, but it doesn't cite its text. What does "anti-transgender slurs" mean, and who was targeted? I remember there WERE a number of widely reported cases in which transgender people were trying to convince kids to go forward hastily with such treatments. Calling those individual people "groomers" wouldn't have been out of line. Of course, many other transgender people are not any such thing.

Now he's not going to pass a 100-point liberal inspection of every comment he's made. But compared to what's out there, the man was not too bad. We have to bear in mind that people like him were much more accepting of sexual diversity than "liberals" were a few decades ago. There was a time when gay marriage seemed completely implausible ever to happen at all. At some point, I mean, where women weren't allowed to complain about an erect willy in the women's dressing room, we have to recognize that there is some excess in the transgender movement that has undermined LGBT+ rights in general, and that conceding the right points to the right people wouldn't be a terrible loss.

Yeah we were all aware he could be wildly two-faced, but thanks for the demonstration.
Liberals seem to be "aware" of lots of things, and then proceed to not post any evidence of it.

Just lifting leftist spin talking points. And it seems to the same quote every liberal uses lol

I saw a whole bunch of his interactions, he was always reasonable in what is saw. Not manner ugly.

Ah, "gender-affirming care." You mean sexually mutilating children, right?

How is that misinformation? Also, do you understand what a rate is?

Hostile to what? Sexually mutilating children?

Leftists here do not listen to what he ever said. They listen to what their fellow illiberal authoritarians CLAIM he said.

All they know in this world is what team they are on and who to hate.

I'm a gay man and I won't take your bait. I said my peace. I do give you credit for taking everything I quoted and creating individual responses, however stupid.

One can be gay without sexually mutilating children. What does one have to do with the other?

Authoritarianism is a right-wing construct.

Stop telling lies.

It is your position and so your burden, your responsibility, to provide the supporting evidence.
In this instance links to audio of Kirk saying what is claimed of him to have said, as opposed to linking to an article that, like your posts, makes claims and allegations of what Kirk said, devoid of any evidence Kirk actually said or wrote what’s attributed to him.

I was referring to the anti-gay rhetoric in my post. I posted the whole article. I actually agree that anyone under 18 should not change sex. I have been with my hubby for 34 years and if Kirk had it his way he would have taken that away from us.

You try going on Youtube and finding anything that isn't related to his death. I did. Help yourself.

I must have missed the specifically "anti-gay" rhetoric because anything remotely specific dealt with trans and everything else was "LGBTQ+" lumping.

Bottom line is men cannot become women. They can cut and paste, take drugs and dress however they please but it doesn't make a man a woman, some fore women becoming men. If you want to argue they have a right to do what they please to their body, fine. But doctors take an oath to, "do no harm". Telling some poor soul they can make the switch is just a lie. Telling young kids is an even worse lie. Finally telling me I have to accept a man as a woman, not happening and telling me that a biological man has a right to participate against biological women is just total bullshit. Gender dysforia is what's going on, treat that and stop mutilating the human body and telling people you can actually change their sex.

That is your opinion. They can live how they want. Leave them alone.

You simply cannot change your sex. If I cut your arm off it doesn't mean you were not born with two arms. Dogs cannot be cats no matter what you claim. The real help would be to do as Kirk said and try to help these people become comfortable with how they were born. Counseling is a better option than mutilation.
