It is unwise to back a nuclear-armed dictator into a corner. There are off ramps available and we shouldn't block them. Putin isn't going to take them yet, but if the war grinds on for weeks or months and Russia's position does not improve, he might.

For example, one possible off ramp might be for countries to acknowledge Russia's claim to Crimea. Or for Ukraine to pause NATO talks for at least 5 years. These are "concessions" Putin could take if he wants to walk away and declare mission accomplished...but they don't materially give him anything he didn't already have.

It sounds like the corruption had rotted so much of the Russian government that even Putin's top advisors were telling him what he wanted to hear, rather than the truth of their capabilities.

That would be dumb. The USA would know nuke weapons were being put into operation thus interception would be put into play. Nothing good could come of this.

That is why the entire world should disable their nuke weapons systems STAT. And would require disabling nuke power systems because ingredients for nuke weapons are manufactured by
nuke power. We can live longer and more efficiently without both.

Militarism is bad; the Chinese government is worse.

We should get rid of nuclear weapons globally; and the US needs to be strong and defend itself from China's aggression, without corrupt militarism. Blowing up the world isn't an option; Chinese totalitarianism isn't an option; and militarism is terrible. You should learn more about China to better recognize what's happening. You seem unwilling to do that.
