Although the US didn't inform Israel about the deal they made with Yemen and the Houthis.Nobody suggested asking permission. However, it is protocol to inform those nations you consider allies. Israel for instance always informed the US, the UK, and France just before strikes on Iran, and in the past, Iraq. Same with the raid on Entebbe.
