Actually, enough people were upset by that tweet that he issued an apology. Unfortunately, that apology ended with:

"So if you are one of those people, I apologize for not knowing in advance what effect my Tweet could have on you."

^Poor choice of words.
 

Yup, and speaking out against fascists and white supremacists, or really anyone you may disagree with politically, is anti-free speech. I see how it works, now!

But even if it weren't related to race relations, immigration, and misogyny... Let's say he just opposed a politician for other reasons. Would having the name 'NeverX' be a promotion of hatred?

In this case it is. His posts clearly show the hatred of the President. That's the easy part.

Someone believing something does not make it so. Conservatives believing Obama was born in Kenya did not make it so. And Trump stating, "I am the least racist person you'll ever meet" does not make it so. A man's actions speak loudly to his character.

Without seeing the details, you can't determine if it's just an error, made out of anger or despair, etc., or outright defamation (a crime!).

If you assumed we are using racism in the broader context, you might agree that your quesiton itself likely indicates a racist remark, one made by the majority power (white). That likely bothers you, it bothers most people that don't understand racism. It bothered me for 15 years bubbagone, and then one day I figured it out.

And I do not use the term racism to mean: Racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another.

I am thinking more like this:

There is a language problem at the root of this issue though. If some large % of white people think they are being told they are the first definition, they maybe rightfully are offended. even if it's explained to them, they may feel that in public discourse since they feel most people ALSO use that same definition, that it's still bad....even if they understand the broader definition. So I feel if there is to be progress on this beyond just a steady organic progress, that definition has to differentiate into two distinct concepts/words.

Homicides illegal.
Mass shootings illegal.
They are illegal but the deaths continue, can't stop it and it's no one's fault but the individual that caused it.

I agree the shootings in the US are more frequent, but you can't compare the US with other countries.

Other countries are not immune to mass shootings or mass killing or gun violence.
Norway dealt with a mass shooter in 2011 when 80 were killed.
China dealt with a mass stabbing of school children this year.
England had it's share of terror attacks by bombing, knife and vehicle, especially in 2017. Paris as well.

I don't know what you consider developed nations, but there are 9 other countries with mass shootings totals in 2019 that are worse than US.
Honduras mass shooting rate is 60 deaths per 100,000 people. They top the list. The other countries are Venezuela, El Salvador, Swaziland, Guatemala, Jamaica, Brazil, Colombia and Panama.

There are specific regulations on drinking alcohol. There are age restrictions. Some states have alcohol proof restrictions. There are restrictions to having open alcohol in the car. But naw, people are going to do it all anyways so why have those regulations? :roll:

No one said mass shootings don't ever happen in those other countries. They just happen a lot less frequently than they do in the United States. They are not just outliers here and there. Almost every other developed country has stricter laws compared to the USA. But I suppose the difference is those countries don't have mentally ill citizens... or they don't have violent video games. That's what the GOP would have us believe, apparently.

I wouldnt be surprised either, but I used their numbers because even if grossly inflated, they demonstrate how inconsequential the Klan has become. 100 years ago, the Klan boasted a membership of 4,000,000. Now its 5000 in a country that has 200,000,000 more people in it today than it did then. And the Nazi party? Its a joke. Didnt they call for a rally in DC a year or so ago and have only about 25 people show up.
