What proposals? From what I read, and I did read the original article he wrote, his stance is, 'no property rights', 'money for nothing', 'government banks', and 'everyone just work for the government'.....You know what, the world has seen that, and it failed. It was called the Soviet Union.
Russia was a backwaters country at the periphery of world powers in the early 20th century. By the end of the 20th Century it was graduating the top scientists, producing boodles of goods and saw a remarkable increase in the standard of living for most of it's citizens. There were gross human rights violations under the communist and I wouldn't choose to live in the Soviet Union...but I wouldn't prefer to live in the "Democratic" Russia that exists now over the US.
I'm not advocating communism but this idea that it destroyed the Soviet Union is bogus. What destroyed the Soviet Union was corruption and trying to keep up with the US militarily.
