The Border issue is being addressed from the wrong angle. The U.S. should sanction Central American Countries and Mexico for not securing their borders.
If the Sanction are applied constructively, it could bring these countries to the "talking table", and the impact of sanction will put them in a position they will have to manage their borders. It can also open up dialog to create a U.S. - Mexico - Central American Cooperative, to address "The Mexico and Central American Drug Machine" and they can develop a U.S. -Mexico -Central American unit that has the tools and resources to combat and break down the Drug Machine.
There's a few things Drug Cartel Leaders, Corrupt Politicians and The Wealthy who help facilitate Drugs Production, Distribution and Crime truly hate is: Prison, Asset Seizure and Death.
Another Program is to Create a U.S. - Mexico - Central America "Infrastructure Investment Bank" with specific focus to build up Industry in those countries and develop a mutual benefit cooperative agreement. America already has many business interest in these countries, which needs to expand in each respectively.
One thing is for sure... All this "Right Wing Hatred of Brown Skin People" has produced nothing positive over the centuries and decades, and it ignored that Mexican people were in America long before Europeans even knew this land existed.
Today, many America Right Wingers blindly ignore the fact of the many contributions that people from Mexico and Central America provide in America EVERYDAY.
______________
What American Construction Builder have known for decades is: When they hire Mexican and Central American workers, the project don't exceed the scheduled time frame for completion, and the quality of work is done to a high standard of applied labor. It's why many builders continue to seek out the people from Mexico and Central America in various businesses and in construction and varied other job categories. They know the people work, they don't complain about every little thing, and they appreciate having employment. They work hard to learn the language and they work doubly hard to provide for their families. Many of Mexican and Central American people embrace the America Ideals, far more than many American even consider to do. Their family values fit more with the concept of family values, which too many America's only pretend to be about family values, and that pretense only exist when everything is going well. People from Mexico and Central America, their family values don't fade away when things are challenging or not going well, it become even stronger in working together to improve their family and they bond themselves even tighter together to collectively improve things for the family and themselves as individuals.
