Everything you wanted to know about gays (but were afraid to ask).

Yes, I have had sexual experiences with men. Obviously, since I have a teenage son. I can't ever say I was ever "turned on" by men. I felt it was more "expected" of me to date and eventually marry a guy.

Hi Justine! Great stuff. So you got married? Do you feel comfortable sharing with us how you came out to your husband? Or was that a traumatic experience?

I didn't "come out" to my family until I was in my late twenties. I was terrified of what my parents would say to me so I took the cowards way out and came out to my mother via a letter stuffed inside a book left behind in her dressing table.
The next day Mom called me over to the house and we sat down along with my Dad. She just looked at me, holding the book, and said: "DUH!"
We all had a good laugh. It was SO anti-climactic. :2razz:

I love that your family was so supportive. This surprises me since I have gay friends whose families were horrified. Wow.

My son was a different story, but equally as delightful. I sat him down in his bedroom (this was before I said anything to my parents as I felt my son needed to be told the truth). Since he was only eight years old I knew I had to handle it a bit more delicately. But once all was said and done, my son didn't care, but he did giggle as eight year olds do when a talking about something as uncomfortable as Mommy's sex life.
But it was no big deal. He kinda already knew, since we were all living together (my son, my partner and myself) at the time.

How old is your son now? Do his friends ask about why you live with another woman? Does he tell his friends the truth?

To the gay men:

Do most gay men shave or trim their pubic hair? Is it "in" to be, um, bald?

it seems to be "in" in porn but i don't like it at all. trim it to keep it tidy but shaving it makes that area look like a plucked chicken

Are you talking gay porn? I have seen some hetero porn and don't recall ever seeing a guy shaved.

So you're gay, Willoughby?

i am talking about gay-porn. it seems to be a worrying trend but what do i know, i am a fan of hair on guys generally

btw i am bisexual

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I noticed that Justine said something earlier in this thread that bi-sexuals are equally attracted to men and women. I am bi-sexual and I am definitely NOT equally attracted to men and women. I prefer men (I'm married). I could never marry a woman or even date a woman.

What are your feelings about your bi-sexuality?

are u married to a man?

i don't fancy both equally. I lean much more toward guys than girls

Yes. I am crazy about him. I have not been with a woman in 10 years (that's when I met the hubster).

Interesting. It's funny. When I hear that a man is bi-sexual, I assume that he prefers men. When I hear that a woman is bi-sexual, I assume that she prefers men.

I refuse to do it. Rude or not. That stuff tastes nasty. My ex asked me why I wouldn't swallow. I told him to taste it and get back to me. He actually did....and never questioned me again.

Change what he eats. Sweet fruits are a good start. There is a reason behind the romance of whipped cream and strawberries or chocolate and strawberries. Reduce the starches and salt in his diet.

At what age did you know?

Hows are your laws in the UK different then those in the US about gays?

Most male bisexuals I know prefer women. The "bisexual" part comes in when there is a lack of female availability, OR, for the ever popular threesome. I have a very different definition of a "threesome" compared to the rest of the world. 2 guys and a girl isn't a threesome unless the guys are enjoying eachother also. If not, it's just 2 guys and a girl. I don't think sex is a spectator sport, if you are there, get involved! I know there are people that like to watch, but I think, the more the merrier.

As for the anal sex thing. I know several women that enjoy it. Especially when other areas are also stimulated. There is nothing like an orgasm on that side. And you guys are an odd cross section of the gay community. I have never heard of gay guys that didn't like anal sex before. That just surprised the heck outta me.

Personally, I prefer men to women for 2 reasons. 1)Because I haven't found a woman that I would want to bear children with. And that is always the risk.
2) Men are predominately more ... talkative in bed. Most will let you know what they like and what they don't like. Women seem to be embarrassed to let you know what makes them happy. Hell, I'd be happy with one that actually moans or screams or something. I'm not saying ALL women, but you have to get through the bad apples to find the good ones. With men, it's just easier.

Hows are your laws in the UK different then those in the US about gays?

well the age of consent is 16 for gay people just like for straight people

We have a system of civil partnerships which give legal rights and responsibilities to gay couples

we cannot discriminate against homosexuals (that includes the military)

Remember I have never met a gay male in person that I know of.
So don’t take it the wrong way.

How aggressive can a gay male become? I ask because I have only seen gay males on TV, most of which act like 14 year old girls.

How do gay males here in the USA and the UK feel about serving in the Military?
Can they handle the stress of combat?

I know that is something of an unfair question because some straight people cant.

Dude, stop apologizing...you are showing no disrespect at all, trust me. How aggressive can we become? Same as any other guy I s'pose. I hunt and fish, so I guess the killing makes me aggressive. But when I take my boyfriend fishing, he sneaks the bait off his hook so nothing will bite it. I think he just likes to sit on the shore or in the boat and drink all the beer. Come to think of it, he has never come back from a fishing trip with a catch and has never come back from one without a hangover. :rofl As for hunting, he wont even bother to pretend to want to go.

In college I played soccer and he plays hockey, both really aggressive sports. But then I know other gay guys who freak out over dirt, so those sports arent going to happen at all with them. Its just all in the personality.

As to your other question...I live in Alaska as I may have already said. Most of the population of AK is military. I know a lot of gay guys in the Army and the Air Force here. In fact, up here I know more in the military than I do civilians. Thats not typical everywhere though. I myself served in the navybut never saw any kind of combat. In fact, I was medically discharged for breaking my femur in a car accident. Funny, at the time they were paying for my A school, they said my broken femur was too much of a disability. Yet, when I finished college, the recruiters didnt hesitate to try to waiver the femur break to get me back in.

Did you mind the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, or did it even matter since you were in the Navy anyway?:rofl

It really never became an issue to me. I never made it one and neither did anyone else. I think I was very fortunate.

I dont understand how it [anal sex] could possibly be pleasurable to a woman.

I had a lady friend many years ago who would always climax within 5 minutes of
vaginal sex. For a long time after that her clitoris would be so sensitive that she
found having a penis anywhere near it to be very painful.

After her first climax we would switch to anal sex, because the resulting
stimulation was so indirect as to be pleasurable.

I am a male bisexual and have been happily settled down with an adorable guy
for many years.

I have found that my preferences have always been changing. Sometimes I find
women more attractive than men, sometimes it's the other way round.
Sometimes my fantasies focus on men, sometimes women.

Many of the bi guys I know say they are similar, only a few describe any clear
bias.

What is constant though is an attraction to pleasant people; the male or female
thing isn't really an issue for me.

Some do, some don't.

When I was at University in the 60s, I had an Egyptian girlfriend for about 6
months. She kept her pubes completely shaved (well, plucked, actually)
and I found that incredibly arousing. She very quickly persuaded me to do the
same and I found the sensation of smooth skin or tongue against smooth skin to
be incredible.

We split when she had to return home, but I have remained bald ever since.
Not surprisingly, I persuaded my long-term partner to do the same and he
loves it as well.

If you like it, do it; it you don't, then don't.
