Mosques throughout Egypt took advantage of Friday prayers to criticize Hamas over the killing of an Egyptian soldier by a sniper belonging to the Islamist group during riots that erupted earlier this week along the country's border with Gaza.

On Tuesday, clashes erupted between members of an aid convoy and Egyptian riot police in El-Arish after the convoy's entry to Gaza, which is ruled by Hamas, was delayed due to the nature of some of the materials it was carrying. Dozens of protesters and police were injured.

A sympathy protest along the Gaza-side of the border Wednesday degenerated into stone-throwing scuffles and exchange of fire between Egyptian security and Palestinian gunmen, killing one Egyptian border guard.

Yes indeed things are changing in Egypt. Always sorry when someone dies and I do not really know that story, but a different view of the general situation.

SOMETHING ODD, almost bizarre, is going on in Egypt these days.

The Egyptian blockade of Gaza destroys the lives of 1.5 million human beings, men and women, old people and children, most of who are not Hamas activists. It is done publicly, before the eyes of hundreds of millions of Arabs, a billion and a quarter Muslims. In Egypt itself, too, millions of people are ashamed of the participation of their country in the starving of fellow Arabs.

The change comes because Egyptians realize the barbarity of the Hamas organization.
They realize what this terrorist organization does to the Gazan people, and how it represents them in the world's eyes, as their leaders.

The people of Egypt have decided to take a turn here.
They do not hate or wish harm to the Gazan people, they have only decided to oppose Hamas, realizing that its violence threatens Egyptians, Palestinians and Israelis alike.

Now the Gaza people are absolutely in an iron prison. Do you expect them just to lie in their prison doing nothing? I understand even pasta is concidered a luxury for the people of Gaza and so such a basic foodstuff is not allowed in.

Gaza was poverty stricken 20 years ago, it was poverty stricken 50 years ago, it was poverty stricken 100 years ago and it was poverty stricken 200 years ago.

Egypt outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood a long time ago. Embracing an offshoot of such would go against their long standing policy. The residents of Gaza voted overwhelmingly in favor of these terrorists to lead them, so if they want better relations with Egypt, the onus is upon THEM to change their ways by electing a government that is not terrorist.

Well I'm sure there are the portion of idiots who believe that Israel controls the Egyptian government, as there are idiots everywhere, but this new.. 'wind' in Egypt shows on something bigger.
It shows on the realization that terrorism spares no body.

Mubarak sees Hamas as Iran's representative in the area.
He sees them as the reason for the Hizballah planned terror attack on Egypt that was fortunately sabotaged before it could have been made, and the reason for the attacks on Egyptian soldiers at the Gazan-Egypt border.
And Mubarak doesn't like it.
He is going to deal with Hamas like he deals with the Muslim Brotherhood, and every other extremist organization that threatens his country's stability.
