There have been a number of big email dumps based on FOIA requests of Fauchi's emails. They've been problematic for him, to say the least, and led to criticism from all sides. This has been in many news stories.

Yes, I see post like yours and "new" articles that keep saying that, yet no-one is posting said problematic emails here or anywhere else. The few emails I've actually seen are benign at best.

Honestly, that entire post sounds crazy.

1. Whether COVID originated in a lab or in Chinese market is irrelevant to the public health response. If HIV originated in a lab, does that mean that public health authorities should not advocate for condom use?

2. The science on mask usage evolved quickly early in the pandemic and public health recommendations reflected that.

Yes you did. You made a false claim, and when challenged on it you told me to go out and research it. That’s telling me to prove your false claim to be true.

Sigh. Then I would recommend you look at some of the stories regarding the emails. Yes, most are benign, but even there is contradictions between what he was saying to different people. This is a topic that should be discussed more on this forum, but's being avoided.

What claim are you referring to? If you aren't aware of the email dumps, do some google searches. There's a lot of stories on it. It's not even the topic of this thread.

I see that you are trying the same childish deflection as cardinal. It's not useful.

Your entire debate strategy is "Prove my false claims true for me." The arrogance in thinking that could ever work is pretty amazing.

So which email are you referring to? You must have one or more in mind for you to write this correct?
All I've seen is that his opinion changed over time when new information came out.
His initial stance on masks makes a lot of sense in the context of what was going on with limited supplies. For trumpets to hold that as masks don't work is just ****ing stupid.

Science shouldnt make inaccurate claims, if the science hasnt yet evolved enough to make such claims. AND we now know he said there was no reason to wear masks in March, so people wouldnt buy up all the masks needed by the medical workers, NOT because there was no reason.

His emails didnt include much in the way of disagreement with Trump and did include much about disagreement between his public pronouncements and his emails.
 
Fauchi had Trump’s number from word go.

He was always polite, but firm, and unambiguous.

Trump couldn’t push him around, like he did to poor Deborah Brie, and order around like Scott Atlas.

When the President, who is supposed to be the voice of authority, plays the buffoon, offers quack cures, airs his grievances, an announces that he won’t take any responsibility, someone has to be the voice of reason and science.

That’s what people were looking for. That’s what Trump has never done.

If scientists can't move forward without being 100% sure of something, then they are likely not going to move forward and that means technology based on that science will also not move forward.
