DOW up 8,276 points since election day 2020...

Daddy, why is the stock market still pretty good?

Well, sonny, it's because of the trillions of Joe's funny money floating around.

But daddy, what will happen when it stops?

Man, I wish I knew. It can't be good, though.

"The Trump administration and Congress have enacted three separate coronavirus-relief packages at a total cost of more than $2 trillion."

Where the heck did people get the idea that POTUS is directly responsible for every random ass problem capitalism creates?
Probably from hearing in continuously from lefties during the Trump administration.
Like, the shortages of good are purely corporate problems. Businesses have built this global supply chain to run with minimum inventory for maximum profit and efficiency. Such a setup has weaknesses that should be clear to everybody now, except some people are like "DAMN YOU BIDEN" despite the fact that he had nothing to do with this.
Huh? The shortages effect every level of business.

Yes, and these shortages are the result of businesses making business decisions. They built a supply chain that was vulnerable to disruption, Joe ****ing Biden didn't build that for them. This problem is decades in the making.

Still riding the Trump comeback boom (Aprn2020 on), although it looks like some headwinds are coming. Notice the flattening out from about June. Inflation and supply chain problems may cause a strong pullback.
Oh - here's the details of Trump recovery:

You do realize that Trump got a roaring economy from O bama with over 80 straight months of employment growth. Obama's last three months of employment growth were better than Trump's first three. And what did trump do with the economy, failed to recognize the pandemic and ended us up in a recession.

Nope, he got a sputtering, gasping economy - 1.6% GDP, a sideways stock market, even talk of a pending recession. And Trump's "recession lasted a month or two at most . Oh and Trump was working on pandemic from early January on.

Remember when Trump said ‘the market will crash like you’ve never seen before’ if Joe Biden goes to the White House?

He is also on record as saying this too:

“You know what solves it? When the economy crashes, when the economy goes to total hell and everything is a disaster,
then you’ll have, you know, you’ll have riots to go back to where we were when we were great”.

the dude is an insecure con man.

On the money! (no pun intended).

I think what bothers (if you want to use that word) me is that we can't agree on what is "good" and what is "bad". Like, I'm sure (if it didn't already happen), someone will quickly point out that Wall Street DJIA "isn't the economy" and that things are shitty. The same someone, a few years ago was hanging his hat on the stock market increases.

I'm watching The Crown right now on Netflix. I watch it on and off. For most of my time on earth, I always laughed about the nations that still had monarchs. Like there is such a thing as "royal blood". Now...I kinda envy those nations a bit. It would, I think, be a good thing to have an unimpeachable (again, no pun intended) "true north" mooring as a society.
Loved that show. But imagine if our "true north" was a dingbat like Trump. Myself, I prefer the option of kicking them to the curb every 4 years.

I think True North for the Republican party is Donald Trump.

Anyone elected is never going to be a "true north" for everyone since, by definition, there was an opposition. The closest thing for many we have in the US is Jesus Christ I imagine. As an agnostic, he's not my "true north" since I don't think there is a supreme being.

Bwahahahahaha!!!!
