Concerned citizens are ... um ... concerned about what they regard as a disturbing tactic in drone warfare.

Known as the "double tap," the tactic involves bombing a target multiple times in relatively quick succession, meaning that the second strike often hits first responders.

This may be nothing more than ignorance of drone tactics on the part of critics. Drones don't fly in formation, they circulate over an area independently. So if more than one drone is needed to attack a target they have to be recruited in one after the other, so that their attacks are successive. Hence the impression that the US is using the "double tap" tactic.

Good thing the President is a liberal Democrat or they'd be convicting the US of war crimes.

Hitting first responders. That's ****ing savage.

Yeah, good thing the President is also a Constitutional Law Professor--that way, when the President says it's legal, well, it's legal. When the Prez does it, it's legal.

It beats having to capture anyone and torture them remember. Can't do that so they just kill everone - the obama way!
It was the Bush way to start. It'll be everyone's way from here on out - Republican or Democrat. The Military Industrial Complex has a control collar on every leader's neck.

Oh stop. Grow- ups make hard choices about yes, life and death. Scary, savage, brutal...all so you can sit back and type about Socialism.
The idea that because Bush did it, Obama has to do it...really? That's you're story and you're sticking with it?

This. I get the idea of revising our strategy, but these attacks don't sit right with me. Perhaps it is partially because they've been used to assassinate U.S. citizens without charge, trial, or conviction. Not that any of it seems right...

We've got drones flying over the USA right now, and more to come.

If drone attacks against "terrorists" are such a great idea, let's use them to attack the gangs that plague so much of the country right here.

If lives in foreign nations are worth as much as American lives, then the inevitable "collateral damage" shouldn't be any more of a concern in the USA than they are in Yemen or anywhere else, right?

And, if the war on drugs is as important as the war on terror, and surely it must be, as both are called "wars", then let's use drones to attack drug dealers as well.

Well not really now according to the French Courts Bush had people captured, put in secret prisons and water boarded remember? Not saying Bush never had a killing done by drone but I can say there are no reports of Bush killing American citizens by drone and obama has done that; and obama is opposed to torture remember; just not killing - even double tapping.

The OBomba way! Corrected that for ya.

You going after him because he correctly pointed out that Bush started it, yet you don't go after anyone who is critizing Obama?

Ahhh, Drone attacks. A way in which the far left and the far right can come together and criticize the President for killing terrorists and traitors. It's kind of heartwarming, really.

Its far easier to declar al queda dead when you have no prisoners right?

What's scary is that the folks in the middle don't give a **** about these summary executions. Perhaps because the government is killing "scary brown" people overseas.

I expect people to laugh when I talk about these drones being used here for the same purpose. I don't expect them to be laughing when it happens and people like me come back and say "I told you so".

Excuse me? I criticized both Bush and Obama.

More drones, please. Kill every terrorist bastard in the world. Make them quake in their boots every night, wondering if Mr. Drone is going to visit them.

I think you should volunteer to lead a strike force, composed of those people who think we should be arresting terrorists instead of killing them. I'd suggest northwest Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Yemen as early destinations for you.

And if your family is declared terrorists and they're killed without a trial, then what?

Oh, I'm sorry, you're American, you're safe by accident of citizenship. So far, at least.

Well, that really wouldn't go down well. We have to label them terrorists first, then we can go and bomb away. Remember the definition of terrorist is quite subjective.

Or maybe, better yet, we could just pull our forces out of there because in reality, they aren't going to bother us if we don't go over there and mess with them.

So far, indeed. If foreigners can be summarily killed because of suspicion, why not Americans? Why only suspected terrorists?

Not only is this policy dangerous, but it doesn't exactly "win hearts and minds", now does it? How many terrorists are created for every one killed?

What gets me is he won a Nobel. How do you do that while blowing up innocent civilians ALONGSIDE so-called "terrorists"?

Granted, I voted for the guy because drones under Republicans will make Obama's drone attacks look TRIVIAL in comparison.

Yes, it is.

Gangs are terrorists because... because... well because I said so, that's why.
