Ex-Rockets coach says ‘very few people care about the NBA lockout’ | Sports Update | a Chron.com blog Basis for the pollFormer Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy is worried that nobody cares about the NBA lockout.“You know what I was thinking about … is how very few people care about the NBA lockout,” Van Gundy said on KILT in Houston this week. “You just don’t hear people talk. If it wasn’t on sports talk or ESPN… would anybody even know?
“You have to be careful if you’re both ownership and players—that you realize with the economy and so many other options with your disposable income—don’t think it will always stay like it has. It can go the other way. This is not football. Football has a stranglehold on America right now, NFL football, and rightfully so. It’s 16 games. If you’re a season-ticket holder it’s eight games, or 10 games with the preseason games, and it’s on the weekend.”
Jeff's an idiot. "Stranglehold" makes it sound as if the NFL makes people watch their games, when the truth is, football is a far superior sport. He's right about one thing, I couldn't give a **** if there's an NBA lockout.
How do you define "superior sport"? More popular?
I couldn't care less. College ball is so much better
I didnt answe the poll because of its horrible selectionns.
Yes I care about the NBA as much as any sport I guess.
Yes I knew there was a lockout.
its a bummer if it dramatically effects the season and ill miss it but its not a huge thing for me.
NFL, NBA are my favs
I also watch hockey and baseball
Well, I would think the more interesting sport would be more the popular one.
who's your team, Centrist?
What about you stillballin whos your team?
whos your favorite active player?
I don't really think I have a favorite active player, but people have accused me of being a Kobe fanboyHonestly I love any guy who competes, plays hard, and isn't a douche.
My team is the Wizards/Bullets.
ugh even as a laker fan I think Kobe "fanboys" are the worst! lol
that is if you are really a "FANBOY" which is totally different from just being a fan
I love Kobe but I'm not a dickrider if you know what I mean. I just appreciate his skill and accomplishments as a great player.
