Dems set Trump trap? Source says FISA rebuttal memo loaded with sensitive details | Fox News

The Democratic rebuttal to a highly publicized GOP memo alleging government surveillance abuse is filled with sensitive details, a source told Fox News – claiming this was done intentionally to pressure the White House to either block the memo’s release or significantly redact it.

The claim comes after the House Intelligence Committee voted Monday to approve the release of the Democratic document.

So predictable.

Schiff intentionally fills the Dem memo with items that he knows must be redacted so he can later claim the GOP made changes to his memo "for political reasons."

They should call his bluff. Just release it with redactions, let Schiff raise a stink, then release it again in its original form. Let the people see his corrupt tactics out in the open.

The GOP and Trump put themselves in this situation by releasing the first memo, which didn't benefit them much if at all. Foresight and strategy go a long way in national politics......

Schiff, who's 57, still masturbates when he thinks he has something.

No way the Democrats would even consider setting a Trump trap. Impossible. Trump is a genius, the most intelligent president ever, and waaaaay too smart to fall into any trap.

It benefitted them MASSIVELY among independents and his base. There was a mountain of damning information in there; otherwise, the Democrats who saw it wouldn't have been screaming about its release. This post-release strategy of the Dems is only being bought by the way far left, like this zoo of a message board.

And next comes the memo on the State Department (Hillary). It's only just begun.

So who control the Committee? And as your links states " The claim ".

How would it pass unless Republicans voted for it. Unless you think they are incompetent? Yeah, lets go with incompetent.

Yep. That is the truth.

Hey, I say release it all. The memos, the research documents, EVERYTHING!

Obama already unmasked multiple people. Let 'er rip.

It did? That's odd. Gallup still has him polling a badly as ever:

Did we read different memo's? Was there a memo part 2 that I didn't read?

The memo seemed to make a huge deal about the Dossier and alluded to the idea that the Dossier was what spurred the investigation...yet the memo gets timelines wrong and people have stated the Dossier was only one part and the judge was told it was created by political opponents.

Suddenly, rightwingers believe anonymous sources!! :lamo

and no, this isn't the copy you have under your pillow.

This move gives the Nunes Memo credibility.

Trump will call his bluff...redact the crap out of it...and when they cry, he'll blast them for wanting to release classified info. Heck, he'll probably mention how Schiff leaked closed session committee testimony, while it was going on.

Schiff will only solidify his reputation as a partisan hack.

Trump has three choices ... each with downsides;

1. Refuse to release the memo. >The political downside is obvious.

2. Release the memo with no redactions. >Releasing sensitive and classified intelligence-gathering information.

3. Redact and release. >There is no way to know for certain if the redacted material(s) are of a political or intelligence nature.

good points.

I can't stand the Clintons.

Your binary thinking is holding you back. The world is not divided into Trump lovers and Hillary lovers. Many of us can't stand either damned one of them.

I am an Independent. I did not vote for Hillary and I did not vote for Trump.

I'm with you - it's predictable Republicans are pre-emptively attacking the Schiff response the House intelligence committee unanimously voted to release to the public, including members like Nunes and Gowdy.

And of course the problem of the response containing "sensitive details" is a completely predictable outcome of releasing the Nunes memo on such a partisan basis. We already know Nunes charge 1(a) was a lie (about the court being notified about the nature of the funding for the dossier), and the only way to rebut that lie and any others is to refer to highly classified documents in the warrant application.

That's exactly why in a sane world with a competent intelligence committee chair who's not a partisan hack (i.e. someone other than the character of Nunes) the normally serious and bipartisan HPSCI produces a bipartisan document on which the committee can agree. Instead the hack Nunes produces a document with no input from Democrats that we now KNOW misstated a key detail with the first charge, and that demands a response from Democrats, which must by definition reveal more classified information to rebut the lies/omissions/half truths the country was alerted existed the memo by the DoJ and FBI, as well as Schiff and Democrats. So the entire reckless exercise was started by Nunes. There is a good reason what he did has NEVER been done before.

It's a good time to remind you that the GOP was offered an opportunity to hear from FBI and DoJ about their concerns before the memo was released and declined. Despite that both the DoJ and FBI headed by TRUMP APPOINTEES appointees issued public statements strongly objecting to the memo and its release. So the "corrupt" tactics are those of the GOP who started this ball rolling and now are shocked, despite warnings from TRUMP APPOINTEES where this might take us.

Ignore the massive scandal. Attack Nunes as a distraction. Rinse and repeat.

We get it. It's not working.
