Democrats To Start Without GOP Input

Everyone does it, so its OK, eh?

Seems you didn't mind it when Republicans were sidelining the Democrats, did you? So what changed? Ahhhhh. You are no longer in power. I thought the Democrats were hilarious when they were whining, but you Bush supporters have just outdone them. Excuse me, but I just can't stop laughing. :rofl

Okay... So...

The Democrats have said they would exclude the republicans from their key agenda that they want to get passed through quickly.....

But someone help me out here, cause I haven't the time to watch C-Span..

Have they actually done it yet?

We all know its one thing to say something and another thing to do it.

Re: And the lies keep coming... (from the GOP)

Name me one Democratic candidate that ran on a campaign centered.................

Once again a bogus qualification. Your attempts to make excuses for them is quite amusing. It was a theme of the DNC and the Demorcat Congressional Election committee. Just as their claim that they would institute all the 9/11 Commission recommendations which they have now balked on.

"But perhaps more important, Pelosi is vowing to run the House — a body of Congress marked by intense partisanship for decades — in a bipartisan fashion.
“You can’t name a Democratic bill that’s come to [a vote] in the House of Representatives. That’s just not right. … I would hope that we could find common ground [with President Bush and Hill Republicans] because I do believe bipartisanship is important.”"
Pelosi: It’s definition time for Democrats

Pelosi: “Last year, I proposed a Minority Bill of Rights that included guidelines for a bipartisan administration of the House and for the regular democratic order for legislation. The principles are fair and provide for the full and open debate that the American people expect and deserve. I had said that if the Democrats won the House of Representatives we would implement those principles of fairness and hoped that the Republican would join us. They did not."
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday that a Democratic majority would run the U.S. House in a much different manner than the Republicans have for the past 12 years, promising to adopt rules to foster "civility and bipartisanship" in political debates."
OregonLive.com: Everything Oregon

As I have stated, the promise to be willing to work Bi-Partisan was only made by the Democratic "leaders" only AFTER the Majority had been gained.
Well they are the leaders and they have lied about it.

Be dishonest somewhere else, Im getting tired of it

:rofl and you have two years to have to make excuses for them. You can't point out one "dishonest" thing about what I have stated, so your phony attempt to turn this into something about me is quite transparent. If you want to defend them then go ahead, but this is about them not me.

Balked on??? Its been 3 ****ing days!!!!! Take your whining somewhere else, the adults around here are sick of it. :boohoo:

Well they are the leaders and they have lied about it.
Prove they have lied about it.
Also, show me an example of how they have closed the republicans out of the business of the congress. I don't have the time to follow C-Span all day, so I wouldn't know. But prove to me that the Democrats have already closed the Republicans out of the debate on certain bills they wanted to be passed. I don't want you to tell me what they said they have done.

Innocent until proven guilty right?

Its about them. But when you become intellectually dishonest and hypocritical, it becomes hard to debate with you because its like debating reality with a fiction novel.

especially with Democrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this was an answer to my request how exactly???

Oh yeah.. I forgot...

:boohoo::cry::boohoo::cry:

It didn't even take that long for them to back off on it :lamo

Prove they have lied about it.

They said it and now the won't do it.
Also, show me an example of how they have closed the republicans out of the business of the congress.

See the beginning of the thread, I cited it.

I don't have the time to follow C-Span all day, so I wouldn't know.

Has nothing to do with C-Span, phony response.

But prove to me that the Democrats have already closed the Republicans out of the debate

See the OP.

Its about them. But when you become intellectually dishonest and hypocritical,

But you're trying your darnedest to make it about me aren't you............and failing miserably I might add.

It was a response to exactly what you said.

Oh yeah.. I forgot...
:boohoo::cry::boohoo:
Oh you haven't forgot to do your crying here. Now that the Dems will be held accountable I imagine we'll be seeing a lot of it.

Excellent response...... for a man with down's syndrome.

They said it and now the won't do it.
Prove that they have not done it... Are you psychic?
You didn't believe them when they SAID they were going to be Bi-Partisan.
But you are quick to believe them when they SAID they decided not to be Bi-Partisan ON CERTAIN ISSUES.

But you're trying your darnedest to make it about me aren't you............and failing miserably I might add.

Only in your own little world...

OH yeah..... I can't forget to post a picture of you..
:boohoo:

Re: And the lies keep coming

Right over you head I see. If the Democrats had run on the premise that they would run the congress like the Republicans, and like they did previously, then fine. But they didn't. And they lied.

Stop acting like you Republicians mouths is prayer books. You Republicians will have a rude awakening in a few more weeks. It would be just like dropping a turd once you Republicians will get kicked off of Capital hill...oh what a relief....Ahhhh.

With all due respect, vuage, Caine should be ashamed of himself. That was awful!

Re: And the lies keep coming

Of course they are not gonna be bipartisan in kicking out partisan republican laws and rules laid down the last decade. No one in their right mind would expect that. This is just more :spin: The Democrats did in fact also promise to get rid of the various laws and rules that the Republicans forced through over the years in a partisan way, so in that effect they are living up to their campaign promise.

I see what you mean, but I am disappointed that they are behaving this way. If they are not going to follow through on the promises they made, they need to explain their reasoning. There was a great editorial in Today's Washington Post on this issue.

A Fairer House
But not quite yet.
Wednesday, January 3, 2007; Page A18

THE NEW Democratic House majority has an ambitious plan for its first 100 hours in power, from increasing the minimum wage to strengthening ethics rules to having the federal government negotiate prescription drug prices. Unfortunately, its plans don't include getting those provisions passed in the democratic fashion that the Democrats promised to adhere to once in the majority. When Republicans took over in 1995, they at least went through the motions of putting their "Contract With America" proposals through the normal committee process. Democrats under Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have decided not to bother with that, nor to let Republicans offer amendments on the floor, nor even to put a GOP alternative up for a vote. This is exactly the kind of high-handed mistreatment that Democrats complained about, justifiably, when they were in the minority. . .

Democrats say that they'll adhere to their previous promises once their first flurry of business is finished. We look forward to that. But if they don't reconsider, they will set an unfortunate precedent that fairness will be offered on sufferance, when the majority finds it convenient, and not as a matter of principle. That would not be a good start for the 110th Congress.

Democrats in Congress--please show us you're better than the Republicans were. What the hell could you be thinking?

I completely agree, aps. The campaign lies are turning up right and left .

What on earth are you talking about? I'm not a Republican and I'm atheist.

Discuss the issues.

To me it's not a matter that they can and will use their majority to pass legislation and use the rules to that advantage they won, that's what they were elected to do. It's that they lied about it.

But glad to see a liberal willing to point it out. Tell me if the Republicans use the power of the filibuster like the Dems did, and they have not said they would not, will you say "fair game"?

Of course, Republicans filibustering is fair game. So is the threat of a Democratic "nuclear option". LOL.
