Democrats To Start Without GOP Input

Re: And the lies keep coming

I don't think you have ever been in the position to judge what the "Democrats" have said. Nor what they wanted, nor what their intent are.

I am in as good a position as anyone else to cite exactly what they said and say.

Because you ...........................

This ain't about me it's about the Dems, stay on topic.

Re: And the lies keep coming

Because you are so partisan that any time you make an opinion out about Democrats you do it to misconstrue them into the way that you view them, when the fact remains that you are delusional.

YOU didnt really just say that, did you?

Fact of the matter is that the dems will do exactly the same thing they say the GOP does; when the GOP does it, its being "partisan", then they do it, it's not.

The Dems said they would work with the GOP - they PROMISED as much - and now they've gone back on said promise. It's that simple.

Re: And the lies keep coming

It is completely stupid to complain this early.

It is completely stupid to dismiss what they promised during the campaign and what they are saying now. THEY made the bed they now have to sleep in. You want to go back and listen to what they said the first days after THEY lost the congress to the Republicans? How they demanded equal treatment and everything be decided on a bipartisan basis and how they had an obligation to obstruct?

They lied, they are going to government just as they did before, and just as the Rep did when they won the congress. If you fell for it during the election, oh well, but spare us your denials.

Re: And the lies keep coming

:rofl there were no qualifications in what they said and you are in no position to add them in order to defend them. They were quite clear in what they said and now they are reneging.

Yes, they are reneging because of a few days of doing the same thing that you supported under the Republicans.

What a hypocrite.

Re: And the lies keep coming

Yes I did. I have never heard one positive and truthful thing come from him. That is why he is usually not worthy of debating. He adds nothing.

If those are the F-A-C-T-S of the matter, than you will have no problem showing me the FACTS of something that hasn't happened yet, and not an opinion. Will you?

Re: And the lies keep coming

Yes, they are reneging because of a few days of doing the same thing that you supported under the Republicans.

What a hypocrite.

Again you attempts to attack me change nothing. If the Dems had said they were going to do as they did before and as the Rep did more power to them. They didn't, they ran on a lie. Sorry you fell for it, should have known.

Re: And the lies keep coming

Yes I did. I have never heard one positive and truthful thing come from him.

If you have some of substance to add then do so, if you think ad hominems substitute for something worthy of saying you are grossly in error and it only makes you look foolish.

That is why he is usually not worthy of debating. He adds nothing.

The fact is you just can't rebut the facts so you get in your sandbox.

If those are the F-A-C-T-S of the matter, than you will have no problem showing me the FACTS of something that hasn't happened yet, and not an opinion. Will you?

It's cited in the first post. So if you want to debate on a civil basis then do so, if all you have is name calling then go back to your sandbox.

Hrmm... Im sorry...
I don't remember Bi-Partisanship being something that was mentioned during any of the local or national campaigns.

I remember many Democrats promising to work with the Republicans.
Unfortunately for your argument, I only remember them making this statement AFTER they had already gained the Majority.

To me this sounds like a crying game. Somebody call the whaaaaabulence! somebody is crying. the point is Stinger they did not lie. Now if they do the same thing the Republicans did during theri tenure the entire 2 years in the House and 6 years in the senate then you may have some room to complain. For goodness sakes man it is only January 3 we still have 363 more days to go until the end of the year.

The seem to be working with them just as well as Republicans worked with the Democrats as promised by Mr. "I'm a uniter not a divider."

Just get a kick out of you cons whining now about the same stuff you did.

Hrmm... Im sorry...

These are the kind of quotes I was expecting and are the same quotes that make me expect to see dozens of Democrats on here coming out in 08 if they take the presidency suddenly in support of a government "without checks and balances".

To the Republicans that are saying "Its a shame, but its their right, and its understandable" congrats to you. I'm in the same league as you. Do I wish it wasn't the case? Yeah. But they're going by the rules and doing the same thing the Republicans did, we have to deal with that. Any republicans complaining that its unfair, or not right, are being hypocrites.

LIKEWISE, any democrat that is lauding this as wonderful, smart, good, and something to cheer about...but complained about it for the past few years is ALSO being hypocrites.

I don't even care about what the Democrats in congress promised before or after the election. Numerous people on here and elsewhere that are liberal were whining on and on about how unfair it was...how bad for government it was...how wrong it was....how unethical it was....how badly it was damaging the country...etc etc etc, that the Republicans weren't acting more "bipartisan" and giving respect and credence to the minority. Now suddenly you're in the majority and its all of a sudden okay...nae, GREAT...to do the same thing. Give me a break.

Either you didn't think the Republicans did anything wrong all these years, and you were just bitter asses because your side didn't get to do it...Or it really is something wrong, and thus you should be supporting the Democrats not doing it because that would be the right thing to do.

Re: And the lies keep coming

Well let's look at the article once more:

"As they prepare to take control of Congress this week and face up to campaign pledges to restore bipartisanship and openness, Democrats are planning to largely sideline Republicans from the first burst of lawmaking.
House Democrats intend to pass a raft of popular measures as part of their well-publicized plan for the first 100 hours. They include tightening ethics rules for lawmakers, raising the minimum wage, allowing more research on stem cells and cutting interest rates on student loans.
But instead of allowing Republicans to fully participate in deliberations, as promised after the Democratic victory in the Nov. 7 midterm elections, Democrats now say they will use House rules to prevent the opposition from offering alternative measures, assuring speedy passage of the bills and allowing their party to trumpet early victories."

So, ModerateDem, if that isn't a lie, then what would you call it?

You have a short memory, is it so short you missed Pelosi declaring it yesterday too?

:rofl well if I'm crying then you Dems have been absolutely throwing a tantrum for the last 6 years......................:boohoo:

Yep and they've already reneged. And you've still got 363 more days this year to try and defend them.

363 more days of conservative whining I think is what we will get.

Re: And the lies keep coming

No more or less than from the Dems. Hey this is going to be fun watching you guys defend Pelosi and the Dems who have already reneged on their promise to you.

So how about the election in 08 and the Democrat/Left position that no party should control all three branches. Will you be voting for a Republican instead of a Dem for President to make sure that doesn't happen?

Re: And the lies keep coming

Promises. Plural.
They also have already backed off their promise to implement ALL of the 9/11 commission recommendations.

Of course they won't.
When they say "one party" in this context they mean "Republicans".

Re: And the lies keep coming

Correction duly noted.

So how was it now the republicans acted when they came to power? What was it they promised in the "Contract for America" and their own behaviour and what did they actually do and deliver? Payback sucks no?

And why would dems even bring in the republicans on issues like lobby reform? Thats like asking criminials to write the criminal law.

So how was it now the republicans acted when they came to power?

As they said they would.

What was it they promised in the "Contract for America"

It was the Contract With America. And the fulfilled it.

and their own behaviour and what did they actually do and deliver? Payback sucks no?

If the Dems want to govern as they did before they lost the congress and as the Reps did THAT'S FINE. You seem oblivious to the point here. They said otherwise and lied.

And why would Democrats even bring in the republicans on issues like lobby reform?

They said they would and they lied.

Thats like asking criminials to write the criminal law.

You seem to forget that the Republicans imposed stricter rules against themselves and although the Dems said they would impose the same rules on themselves they in the end rufused to do so. Another lie.

So how was it now the republicans acted when they came to power? What was it they promised in the "Contract for America" and their own behaviour and what did they actually do and deliver? Payback sucks no?
All you're doing here is putting up the "Clinton did it too" argument.
If that's not valid for defending Bush, then its not valid for defending the Congressional dems.

And why would Democrats even bring in the republicans on issues like lobby reform? Thats like asking criminials to write the criminal law.
Yes -- because Democrats dont accept donations from lobbyists.

Re: And the lies keep coming

:rofl well if I'm crying then you Dems have been absolutely throwing a tantrum for the last 6 years......................:boohoo:

You are crying about it. You supported the republican partisanship during theri tenure. Now that they LOST and the Democrats have some things that they would like to have pushed through first you cry about it. Like Caine said: "You are a Hypocrite!"

The point is they did.

Really? Your just pi$$ing and moaning that they arent working together 24/7. Bi-partisandship is about compromise not submission or compliance. Now we have 362 more days this year for them to work together.

If they had said they were going to and did so then I'd have no complaint at all, more power to them. They didn't.

Problem is Stinger you jump the gun too early. they still have 362 more days this year. And if they do even just once work together in a Bi-partisan way your line of reasoning falls apart anyway. What happens if they work together next week. Let me guess you will still be pi$$ing and moaning that they did not give republicans more say. Slippery slope anyone?

Yep and they've already reneged. And you've still got 363 more days this year to try and defend them.

Dont have to defend them they will work together eventually. Caine does have a point that they said that after the elections were over not during. So what is wrong with feeding the Republicans a bit of their own medicine not a thing.

Re: And the lies keep coming

Caine does have a point that they said that after the elections were over not during.
The elections arent over?

So what is wrong with feeding the Republicans a bit of their own medicine not a thing.
Except that they said they wouldn't br doing that.

Re: And the lies keep coming

You are crying about it.

No more or less than you cry about Republicans. But to be accurate merely pointing out how they lied about their intentions. I have been quite clear, if they want to govern as the Republicans did when they had the congress, go ahead. The issue here is that they said differently.

You supported the republican partisanship during theri tenure.

At times. so what?

Now that they LOST and the Democrats have some things that they would like to have pushed through first you cry about it.

No you seem to be the one crying around here. I am merely pointing out that they lied about it, they can do exactly as the Rep did as far as I am concerned. You got that now?

Like Caine said: "You are a Hypocrite!"

And Caine seems to have a harder time understanding that than even you do.

Really? Your just pi$$ing and moaning that they arent working together 24/7. Bi-partisandship is about compromise not submission or compliance. Now we have 362 more days this year for them to work together.

Not according to the Dems, remember the last three years when they were quite clear in stating that it was their job to oppose. Many posted that right here, were you one of them, I could certainly search out your previous post.

Problem is Stinger you jump the gun too early. they still have 362 more days this year.

Sorry but when the Dems made their promise they made no such qualification.

And if they do even just once work together in a Bi-partisan way your line of reasoning falls apart anyway. What happens if they work together next week. Let me guess you will still be pi$$ing and moaning that they did not give republicans more say. Slippery slope anyone?

It's not my reasoning or anything, it's what the Dems said they would do and the fact they lied about it. You can try to turn it into something about me all you want but it isn't.

Dont have to defend them they will work together eventually.

Then why do you keep making excuses for them?

Caine does have a point that they said that after the elections were over not during. So what is wrong with feeding the Republicans a bit of their own medicine not a thing.

So you won't object if the Rep give it back to them?

Re: And the lies keep coming... (from the GOP)

You have a short memory, is it so short you missed Pelosi declaring it yesterday too?

No.. see there is a reason why you cut off the 2nd half of my post that you responded to.
Your being intentionally dishonest.

Name me one Democratic candidate that ran on a campaign centered around promises to work Bi-Partisan. And then maybe your earlier statements of them "getting elected on lies" would be valid.

As I have stated, the promise to be willing to work Bi-Partisan was only made by the Democratic "leaders" only AFTER the Majority had been gained.

Before that it was just a few individuals mentioning it to gain them points, but by NO MEANS did it MAKE their campaign and get them elected.

Be dishonest somewhere else, Im getting tired of it
