There are two key differences. One is that mid-terms have a huge tendency to oppose the incumbent president's party. That WAS trump, but IS Biden. Second, the 2018 elections we all about a referendum on trump; these mid-terms have high inflation, high gas prices under Biden motiving a lot of voters. Polls show a 7 point lead for a generic Democrat which is good, but not a revolution.
