Hmmm maybe? While we may quibble about the details, sure to be reported wrong and over blow by the Dem's MSM co-propagandist, at least we have the common ground that the Senator's behavior wasn't acceptable, that his planned political theater / political stunt wasn't successful and didn't produce the results he desired.
shrug...
That Senator just found out about FAFO.
She could have told she would answer his question when she was finished speaking and invite him to take a seat. They are acquainted with one another after all.
Is common decency really that dead?
Noem was telling her audience that they were in LA to overthrow the government. Not sure that's constitutional, but ok.
Why would you treat someone you know so brutally?
Republican Senator Murkowski is outraged over his treatment. Why would she lie about what happened?
And you guys have been lying about how it really happened.
An ass chewing from Trump? The guy that said take 'em outside, beat 'em up, and I'll pay your legal bills?
Noem is following a script. She's qualified to only read scripts. Unexpected circumstances confuse her. She stood there, continuing to talk, like everything was normal. Probably peeing her panties. Not in fear for her safety - she knows who Padilla is - but because she didn't know what to do.
She could have told she would answer his question when she was finished speaking and invite him to take a seat. They are acquainted with one another after all.

No Californian official is breaking the law. It’s not their responsibility to enforce immigration law. That’s the job of the federal government.
On the other hand, the Trump admin is going out of its way to find laws to break. The Trump admin is not doing things in a manner consistent with our laws, our traditions, and the Constitution
I don’t like the system. I think if we need workers we should have an organized system to allow them to enter the country and work. We need to know who is entering our country so we need to have people enter and processed through official ports and entrances. From a pure national security perspective we need a strong border.
At the same time, I don’t view mutually beneficial economic transactions as bad things. If they’re willing to come here and work, and if companies here are willing to hire them, and everyone is happy with that, illegal immigration should not be treated as some horrific thing that demands such extreme measures. There is no invasion.
The truth is illegal immigrants from central and South America are just regular people who are trying to survive. And they’re also helpful, and generally decent people. They give more than they take, even as it relates to things like taxes. So it doesn’t make any sense to me to treat them horribly.
And I think if the government wants to deport people it should be sensible about, do things slowly, methodically, carefully, and to the degree it’s practically achievable, the government should go out of its way to be decent to them. They’re human beings. The government should not go out it’s way to be as cruel as possible, but that’s what people like Stephen Miller are going out of their way to do.
I don’t view illegal immigrants as enemies like Trump supporters do.
For what? Senator Padilla didn’t wrestle Noem to the ground, drag her out of the room, cuff her for expressing disagreement, and then make public statements about engaging in a coup against the federal government.
And California isn’t breaking any laws. The federal government is breaking the law.
It’s the actions of the federal government and Noem that are unlawful, offensive, aggressive, and out of line.
You implied that Padilla was arrested.
It was Noem’s event. Her responsibility.
Noem was aware of what was happening, including that Padilla identified himself, and did nothing.
Simply put, it was a media stunt and you know it.![]()
Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla is forcefully removed from Noem's news conference and handcuffed
Democratic U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla of California has been forcefully removed from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s news conference in Los Angeles and handcuffed by officers as he tried to speak up about immigration raids that have led to protests in California and elsewhere.apnews.com
Okay, I suppose, if the next time Boebert and MTG cause a scene they can be shackled.
Nazi shit.
So was MTG and Boebert at the SOTU but they didn't get cuffed.Simply put, it was a media stunt and you know it.
Padilla being put face down on the floor and handcuffed is part of the shame/public embarrassment that belongs to Noem.
Complain to the House Sergeant-at-Arms.So was MTG and Boebert at the SOTU but they didn't get cuffed.
Painful lesson for Padilla, you can’t take over a news conference without repercussions.
Simply put, it was a media stunt and you know it.
Sensible people would have the decency to let the speaker speak for longer than 4 minutes before losing their cool and making a spectacle of themselves. And then . . . AND THEN . . . at his own press conference announce he won't take questions! He wanted to ask a question at a news conference. That's what they're for, hence the name "conference."
And with Noem there to say they are there to overthrow the government, questions should arise.
Someday the left will get it
The clip you posted doesn’t, in any way, support your ridiculous claim that Padilla violated “Disturbing the peace” and/or “obstruction” laws.
In fact, Padilla was released with no charges.
The only thing he was guilty of was trying to ask a question of a government official giving a press briefing where other questions were being asked/answered.
I’m not aware of any video documenting the entirety of the incident being released, so all I can comment is what has been posted in this thread.
Padilla quickly identified himself before being physically removed from the room. Noem said she didn’t know who Padilla is, which is odd, considering the fact that he’s the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Safety, and she made no effort to stop his being removed, instead pretending like she didn’t see/hear him.
Granted, Padilla should’ve waited until Noem opened the floor to questions, instead of making an ass of himself by abruptly confronting Noem in front of a crowd of reporters.
Had Noem instructed her security detail to immediately release Padilla, before being removed from the room, and asked him to be courteous and wait until she finished speaking and opened the floor to questions (like some politicians have done), she would have come away looking like the adult, but she didn’t.
The head of ICE said the same thing... Trump was voted in on Dealing with Illegal Immigration and that is what he is doing. They aren't going anywhere and if anything, it will get worse for Illegal Immigrants. Los Angeles and California are run by idiots. I lived there and it has only gotten worse.
Perhaps. I think we meander alongActually, all of world society is moving in the opposite direction.
The world's 'strongmen' are declining in number and power annually. Trump is a 'one of' phenomenon which has already begun to shift in the opposite direction. His popularity level has never been lower and its sinking. More and more entrenched politicians are embracing 'social' policies as they are growing in popularity. Like Canada's health care system.
Clearly he is running out of ideas how to shift the focus off his stupid parade and the mess the country is in.
He's in the low 40's now. I predict 30's by fall when the effects of his stupid on again off again tariffs finally impact in full.
The American economy is officially ****ed!
Perhaps. I think we meander along
