Are you for real? How on earth can you believe that? His speech was polar opposite of Trump whose speeches are all dark, grim and meant to frighten people into voting for him. Biden's speech was amazing - the best I've ever heard him give. He was mostly positive except when talking about what Trump has done to our country. I lvoed that he started out explaining that from day 1 he'll put together a national strategy for Covid - something Trump has never done and never will.

Do you think Trump can show himself and his children and grandchildren speaking on the phone, talking about their love for each other and how much time they spend together? Biden has real family values. Trump has a dysfunctional family without values. Do you think one of Joe's niece's will write a book about what an ahole he is? Do you think Melania could give a speech like Dr. Jill did? Hell, she won't even hold his hand!

It's such BS and all Americans accept some socialism, i.e. firefighters, police, Social Security, Medicare, free concerts in the park etc. Calling Dems "socialists" is a cop-out. False blame when you have nothing else to say. Biden portrayed himself yesterday as the opposite of divisive...which is all Trump has to offer.

Angry? You think Biden's angry but Trump isn't? Nothing else needs to be said because you're in a different, bizarro world. Biden seemed really strong and lucid last night. He never has been senile, it's another desperate attempt to find anything you can to convince yourself that Biden isn't capable. He'll put together a national strategy for Covid that dramatically increases testing to millions per day, encourage everyone everywhere to wear masks when in public. He'll put our health as the first priority.

Trump is a dismal Covid failure. Trump's own negligence, ignorance and malpractice turned what would have been a daunting challenge for any president into a national disaster.

To date, Trump has admittedly made some mistakes, as have all of them, but I can honestly say that I am satisfied with Trumps response. I don't think its reasonable to expect anyone to be perfect and the steps he has taken have been mostly reasonable and largely effective in mitigating the devastation that the virus has caused both to our health and the health of the economy.
The criticisms of him by progressives reflect more poorly on them than him. Case in point in an earlier post you characterized the economic downturn as a republican recession as if his policies caused the crash and not the virus. Do you really think anyone is buying that garbage?

Trump has not done anything for the Economy but he certainly did a lot of damages....Trade War Mess, (that cost Americans more at the cash register), Farmers will not recover what they lost and many who lost their Farms won't get them back.... by the time it all shakes out, the Fraud and Money Washing Going on in the Stock Trading Game will net a list of criminals swindlers... and we will find out how much Russian Money and other Nations known for Money washing has been feeding the "trading frenzy"... because the trading is certainly NO INDICATOR of the actual economy... when so much is closed across the ENTIRE Nation.

This is one of those fundamental differences that you and I will never agree on.
When the rich have an incentive to invest money it creates opportunities for everyone.

Off topic but relevant. I read an interesting article about a year ago. It was about the widening wealth gap between the poor and the rich. It confirmed that there is a shrinking middle class which is something I hear the left complain about often. What was interesting to me about it was that it also illustrated that the upper class was growing twice as fast as a group than were the poor. Meaning that for every 3 people in the middle class that changed their economic status 2 went up and 1 went down. More peoples lives are improving. Thats something that should be celebrated. On the flip side I do see a fair argument to be made that we do have a problem if our lower class is expanding which it is. Its just doing it slower than our upper class. We do need to address how to create better avenues for people to climb out of poverty and into middle class incomes. Imo, which I am sure you will not agree with, is the best vehicle for that is capitalism.

I disagree with most of what youre espousing here but I will say that while the stockmarkets performance isn't the be all to end all of economic health it is one indicator that we are going in the right direction. When the stockmarket is down the economy is hurting

That is beyond silly. That is not at all correct. "Investment" money is simply supply in the the supply and demand equation. Conservatives think more supply makes the economy go round when reality is demand that requests supply makes the economy go round. Keep giving the rich all the carrots and they park it offshore. Had you given the carrots to the rest of us, it'd be right back into the economy.

I seriously doubt the conclusion that 2 middle class folk are turning rich while 1 turns poor. I'd have to see how they came to that conclusion.

YES, I understand the psychology of that... But you know and I know... With much of the country's businesses shut down, Million of People UNEMPLOYED.. that the "trading frenzy" is just that "trading frenzy".... and I suspect that time will prove what is behind the "trading frenzy" is a lot more colluded with dirty money washing, not only by people in this country, but backed by money washing promotions for various other countries through the many shell's that exist for that very purpose.

America NEVER should have based the nature and health of the nation by a stock market that is promoted by "Speculations"... when that was never the point nor principle for the original design of the Stock Market.
